  • By Car
  • The A1(M) Junction 34 is approximately 2.4 miles away via Blyth Road and Scrooby Road.
  • The street guide runs east to west through the main shopping area of Harworth.
  • Parking
  • There is on street Blue Badge parking and standard parking available along Scrooby Road with limited parking available. Parking is free for 1 hour Monday to Saturday 8.00am to 18.00pm, no return within an hour.
  • There is a public car park available at Harworth Primary Care Trust. This car park is near Scrooby Close and is chargeable, please refer to Harworth Primary Care Trust for more information.
  • By Bus
  • There are several bus stops along Scrooby Road (near Shrewsby Road and Hilltop Court) with direct services available to Worksop, Mexborough, Doncaster and Bawtry. For more information on Stagecoach please click here

  • Doncaster Station is located on Court approximately 9.6 miles from the area.

  • There are limited Blue Badge and Standard on street parking bays on Scrooby Road and surrounding side roads.
  • There is no charge for these parking bays.
  • Blue Badge holders may park in any of the bays for a maximum of 2 hours.
  • Parking is limited to 1 hour for non-Blue Badge holders depending on the parking area.
  • Parking is limited to 1 hour for standard bays and no return in 1 hour, 8.00am to 18.00pm Monday to Saturday.

  • Public Car Parks:-
  • Town Hall Public car park is located opposite B&M and Harworth Primary Care Centre. This car park is free for all users and has 4 Blue Badge parking bays at the front of the car park, measuring 300cm X 490cm, and are clearly marked.
  • There are ample standard bays available also.
  • Photograph 1 shows the public footpath entrance leading from the pathway opposite the zebra crossing leading across Scrooby Road opposite M&R Pharmacy.

  • Harworth Primary Care Centre car park is located behind Harworth Primary Care Centre and opposite the Town Hall and just off Scrooby Road opposite Harworth Barbershop.
  • This car park is free for all users and has 5 Blue Badge parking bays near the front of the car park which measure 315cm X 490cm in dimension and are well marked out. There is ample standard parking available too.

  • There is parking available at Aldi and Asda also but these are for those stores only.

Junction – Shrewsbury Road, Asda and Scrooby Road

  • There are several crossings at this junction to cross over Shrewsbury Road, Scrooby Road, and Coliery Road (Asda).
  • These are pedestrian crossings that have dropped kerbs and tactile paving on both sides.
  • The pedestrian crossings are push button controlled with visual signals. The buttons are 104cm in height.
  • The surface of the roads is tarmac.
  • The surface of the pathways is block paving and concrete. The pathways are uneven in places.
  • There is a slight uphill slope leading into Scrooby Road from Shrewsbury Road.
  • There is a slight uphill slope leading from Scrooby Road to Coliery Road (Asda) and the same from Shrewsbury Road turning right into Scrooby Road.
  • There is a steep downhill slope leading from Shrewsbury Road as you turn left onto Scrooby Road.

Shrewsbury Road to Scrooby Close via Scrooby Road

  • The pathways on both sides of the road in this section are formed of concrete tiles/block paving.
  • The pathways on both sides are wide.
  • There are some obstructions along the pavement on both sides such as signs, cash points, railings, cycle racks, bus stops, bins, and signboards.
  • There is a slight uphill slope running from Shrewsbury Road and Coliery Road along Scrooby Road.
  • It becomes a slight to steep downhill slope as you approach Grosvenor Street from Shrewsbury Road and Coliery Road.
  • The pathways on both sides of the road in this section are formed of concrete tiles/block paving.
  • There are some side roads to cross such as Grosvenor Street and Simpson Park. Photographs 4, 8 and 9 show examples of these. These crossings have dropped kerbs and tactile paving on both sides.
  • There is a zebra crossing available on Scrooby Road opposite M&R Pharmacy and the Town Hall, and opposite Boots Pharmacy and Diamond Dolls. Both of these crossings have dropped kerbs and tactile paving.

  • There are several bus stops available on both sides of the road. Photographs 6, 12 and 19 show examples of these.

Junction - Scrooby Close and Scrooby Road

  • There is one crossing at this junction to cross over Scrooby Close.
  • This crossing has dropped kerbs and tactile paving on both sides over Scrooby Close.
  • The surface of the roads is tarmac.
  • The surface of the pathways is block paving and concrete and is uneven in places.
  • There is a slight uphill slope leading into Scrooby Close from Scrooby Road. There is a slight to steep downhill slope along Scrooby Road from left to right as you exit Scrooby Close.

Scrooby Close to Hilltop Court via Scrooby Road

  • The pathways on both sides of the road in this section are formed of concrete tiles/block paving.
  • The pathways on both sides are wide.
  • There are some obstructions along the pavement on both sides such as signs, cash points, railings, cycle racks, bus stops, bins, and signboards.
  • There is a slight downhill slope running from Scrooby Close to Hilltop Court.
  • There are some side roads to cross such as Well Hill Drive, Aldi, and Harworth Comrades Club. These crossings have dropped kerbs and tactile paving on both sides.
  • Photographs 6, 7, 8, 17, 23, and 24 show examples of these.
  • There are several bus stops available on both sides of the road. Photographs 11 and 15 show examples of these.
  • Photographs 3 and 12 show examples of seating available.

Junction Hilltop Court and Scrooby Road

  • There are several crossings at this junction to cross Scrooby Road, Galway Road, and Hilltop Court
  • These are crossings that have dropped kerbs and tactile paving on both sides across Hilltop Court and Galway Road, but not dropped kerbs or tactile paving across Scrooby Road.
  • The surface of the roads is tarmac.
  • The surface of the pathways is block paving and concrete and is uneven in places.
  • There is a slight uphill slope leading into Galway Road and Hilltop Court from Scrooby Road and slight slope uphill running from Hilltop Court towards Scrooby Close.
