    • The Novium Museum is located in Chichester city centre. It tells the story of the Chichester District and its heritage, with over 500,000 artefacts on display over 3 floors.
    • Services available in the venue include: tourist information centre, box office, shop, displays and exhibitions, library, learning and meeting space.

    • There is step-free level access at the most accessible entrance.
    • There is step-free level access throughout, this may include the use of a lift.
    • Access throughout may include manual doors and automatic doors.
    • The ground, first and second floors can be accessed via a standard lift and stairs.
    • The following facilities are available: a seat/chair, a hearing assistance system and a water bowl for assistance dogs.
    • The venue can provide large print documents and documents in different languages.
    • Additional facilities/services include: Wi-Fi.
  • Toilet and Changing Facilities View
    • There are 2 toilets with adaptations.
    • Toilets with adaptations are located on the ground floor and second floor.

Entrance

Counter (Tourist Information)

  • The counter is located to the right after the entrance.
  • The most accessible route to the counter has automatic doors.
  • There is step-free level access to the counter.
  • The height of the counter is 75cm.
  • There is a clearly signed portable hearing assistance system.
  • There is no (or very little) background noise in this area.
  • Seats can be offered if requested. The box office counter has a height of 72cm.

Exhibition Space (Ground Floor)

  • All exhibits are indoors.
  • There is step-free level access throughout all areas.
  • There is room for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm).
  • There is no (or very little) background noise.
  • Display information includes: pictorial, information boards and televisions/screens.
  • There is not a hearing assistance system.
  • Seating available in this area includes: benches.
  • The tour is self-guided but volunteers/staff are available to provide additional information.

Toilet with Adaptations (Ground Floor - Left Hand Transfer)

Lift

  • All of the external lift controls are at a suitable height for a wheelchair user.

  • All of the internal lift controls are at a suitable height for a wheelchair user.
  • Internally the lift has: an audible announcer and a list of floor services/facilities.

Stairs

  • The stairs surveyed are located to the back right of the exhibition space.
  • There is a single manual door to access the stairwell.
  • The ground, first and second floors can be accessed by these stairs.
  • There are 20+ steps between floors which are clearly marked and have handrails on both sides.

Exhibition Space (First Floor)

  • All exhibits are indoors.
  • There is step-free level access throughout all areas.
  • There is room for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm).
  • There is no (or very little) background noise.
  • Display information includes: pictorial, information boards, televisions/screens and subtitles.
  • There is not a hearing assistance system.
  • Seating available in this area includes: armchairs and benches.
  • Furniture available in this area includes: tables.
  • There are shows/talks with no designated seating for wheelchair users.
  • The tour is self-guided but volunteers/staff are available to provide additional information.
  • There is step-free level access throughout the tour.
  • Wayfinding signage is provided throughout the tour.
  • There is a door if you take the stairs with a width of 87cm.

Exhibition Space (Second Floor)
