Introduction

  • This route is from the Blue Badge parking bays on The Green outside the Conference and Computer Centre which contains the Main Campus Reception just inside the entrance.
    There is approximately 40m from the Blue Badge bays to the main reception.

Blue Badge bays on The Green

  • There are 3 Blue Badge bays, 200cm x 500cm, located on The Green, outside the Conference and Computer Centre.
  • They have a tarmac surface.
  • This part of The Green is located off Water Lane.

The Green

  • To access the path from the Blue Badge bays, there is a dropped kerb behind the bay nearest the Conference and Computer Centre.
  • It does not have tactile paving.

In front of the Conference and Computer Centre

  • At the end of the tarmac path there are bollards, 128cm apart.
  • Beyond these, the area has a brick block paving then a bonded gravel surface with easy slopes leading to the entrance.

Outside Access (Conference and Computer Centre Main Entrance)

  • This information is for the entrance located at the front of the building.
  • There is level access into the venue.
  • The bell is not in a suitable position to allow wheelchair users to gain access.
  • The intercom is not in a suitable position to allow wheelchair users to gain access.

Ramp to the Security Reception

  • Just inside the main entrance there is a slight ramp, with a carpet/mat then vinyl surface.
  • It leads up to the Security reception and the barriers into the Conference and Computer Centre.

Reception (Main Campus / Security Reception)

  • The Main Campus / Security Reception is located to your right on entrance.
  • The desk is 3m (3yd 10in) from the main entrance.
  • The reception area is clearly visible from the entrance.
  • There is step free access to this reception area.
  • The lighting levels in the reception area are good.
  • The reception desk/counter is medium height (77cm - 109cm).
  • There is a low section of the counter (76cm or below) available.
  • There is not a clear knee recess beneath the low/lowered counter.
  • The desk is staffed.
  • There is not a hearing assistance system.
