Getting Help and Assistance

  • There is a member of staff available for help and assistance.
  • There is a member of staff trained in British Sign Language.
  • The alternative formats documents can be provided in include: large print on request.
  • There is not an assistance dog toilet or toileting area at the venue/nearby.
  • Water bowls for assistance dogs are available.

  • The mobility aids available include wheelchairs and mobility scooters.

Ride Access (Standard Passes)

  • Access Point View
    • This ride/attraction access point is signed.
    • There is step-free access at this access point.
    • This access point is an opening with no gate(s) or door(s).
    • The width of the access point opening is 150cm.
  • Queuing System View
    • Access along this queue consists of; steps going up.
    • The approximate length of this queue is 90m.
    • This queue can be extended during busy periods.
    • There are additional ramps/slopes along the extension(s).
    • Path surfaces in this queuing system are concrete, block paving and vinyl.
    • The queuing area is open air with some sheltered parts.
    • The minimum width of the queuing area is 110cm.
    • There are a total of 11 steps along this queue.
    • Steps are not clearly marked.
    • Handrails along the stepped section(s) are on the right hand side.
    • There are not any resting/seating areas along the queue.
    • Music/themed noise is played along the queue.
    • There are strobe lighting/flashing light effects along the queue.
    • There are some points of the queuing area which have low lighting/darkness.
    • At the end of the queue, there is a turnstile as well as a 91cm wide gate accessing the Cinema Room holding area.
      There are very low lighting levels as well as loud background noise in the form of narration when in the holding area.
  • Pre-Show Rooms View
    • There is level access to a set of 75cm+ wide, automatic double doors that lead into the Cinema Room pre-show from the holding area.
      There are very low lighting levels, flashing lights from the projection screen as well as loud background noise in the form of narration and sound effects during the pre-show.
      Following this, there is level access to a set of 75cm+ wide, automatic double doors leading from the Cinema Room into the Octagon/second pre-show room.
    • The Octagon pre-show involves being in a dark enclosed space with flashing lights and loud background noise in the form of narration and special effects.
      This may not be suitable for all guests.
      Following the pre-show, guests exit up a set of 10, clearly marked steps with handrails on both sides.
      There is also a slight upward ramp, also with handrails on both sides, and a width of at least 126cm as well as frequent level landings that can be used to bypass the steps.
      At the top of the steps/ramp, there is a 75cm+ wide opening, followed by a long slight slope with handrails on both sides and no level landings.
      This slope leads up to the ride transfer area.
  • Ride Transfer View
    • There is a 75cm+ wide single door followed by a second 93cm wide single door accessing the ride.
    • Guests have to step across and onto the carriage.
    • The carriage is secure and will not move when guests are transferring.
    • Staff are unable to provide assistance when transferring into/onto the ride/attraction.
    • The restraints for this ride/attraction include: lap bars.

Ride Access (Ride Access Passes and Fast Track Passes)

  • Access Point View
    • This ride/attraction access point is signed.
    • There is ramped/sloped access at this access point.
    • This access point is an opening with no gate(s) or door(s).
  • Queuing System View
    • Access along this queue consists of; slight slopes going up, slight slopes going down, steep slopes going up and steep slopes going down.
    • The approximate length of this queue is 72m.
    • Path surfaces in this queuing system are concrete and block paving.
    • The queuing area is open air with some sheltered parts.
    • The minimum width of the queuing area is 110cm.
    • Handrails along the ramped/sloped section(s) are not provided.
    • There are not any resting/seating areas along the queue.

  • Ride Transfer View
    • There is a 75cm+ wide single door followed by a second 93cm wide single door accessing the ride.
    • Wheelchairs are not permitted in/on the ride/attraction itself.
    • Wheelchairs can be left at the ride/attraction transfer platform/area.
    • Guests have to step across and onto the carriage.
    • The carriage is secure and will not move when guests are transferring.
    • Staff are unable to provide assistance when transferring into/onto the ride/attraction.
    • The restraints for this ride/attraction include: lap bars.
    • Wheelchair users will enter the ride via the doors on the left hand side. There is a space available for transfer between a wheelchair and the ride seating.

Ride/Attraction Experience (The Vault)

Ride Exit (Standard and Fast Track Passes - March to August)

  • Ride Transfer View
    • The carriage is secure and will not move when guests are transferring.
    • Staff are unable to provide assistance when transferring out of/off the ride/attraction.
    • Guests have to step across to the platform when exiting.
    • Access from the platform is via an open doorway.
    • The opening width is 93cm.
  • Exit Route View
    • Access along this exit route consists of; steps going up, slight slopes going down, slight slopes going up and steps going down.
    • The approximate length of this exit route is 178m.
    • Path surfaces in this exit route are tarmac, concrete, stone and flagstone paving.
    • The minimum width of the exit route is 95cm.
    • There are a total of 45 steps along this exit route.
    • Some steps are clearly marked.
    • Handrails along the ramped/sloped section(s) are not provided.
    • Handrails along the stepped section(s) are on both sides for some sections but not provided for others.
    • There are not any resting/seating areas along the exit route.
    • There are a total of 45 steps (see photographs 4, 10, 14 and 16) as well as a slight slope (see photograph 9) along this exit route.
      The route is initially internal before becoming external at approximately the halfway point.
      There are a total of 3 doors/openings along the route of which the narrowest is 93cm (see photographs 7, 8, 10 and 13).
      All doors are permanently held open.
  • Exit Point View
    • This ride/attraction exit point is not signed.
    • There is step-free access at this exit point.
    • This exit point is an opening with no gate(s) or door(s).
    • The exit point opening width is 315cm.

Ride Exit (Standard and Fastrack Passes - Scarefest Exit - August to November)

  • Ride Transfer View
    • The carriage is secure and will not move when guests are transferring.
    • Staff are unable to provide assistance when transferring out of/off the ride/attraction.
    • Guests have to step across to the platform when exiting.
    • Access from the platform is via an open doorway.
    • The opening width is 93cm.
  • Exit Route View
    • Access along this exit route consists of; steep slopes going up, steep slopes going down, slight slopes going down, steps going down and slight slopes going up.
    • Path surfaces in this exit route are concrete, block paving and resin bound gravel.
    • The minimum width of the exit route is 110cm.
    • There are a total of 15 steps along this exit route.
    • Steps are clearly marked.
    • Handrails along the ramped/sloped section(s) are not provided.
    • Handrails along the stepped section(s) are not provided.
    • There are not any resting/seating areas along the exit route.
    • There are a total of 15 steps (see photograph 4) as well as both slight and steep slopes (see photographs 8, 9, 11 and 17) along this exit route.
      The route is initially internal before becoming external.
      The doors leading out to the external section of the route are 160cm wide and permanently held open (see photograph 7).
      The route is clearly signed.
      There is a steep slope located at the end of the route (see photograph 17).
      The route merges with the Fastrack/Ride Access Pass queue at approximately the halfway point (see photograph 11).
  • Exit Point View
    • This ride/attraction exit point is signed.
    • There is ramped/sloped access at this exit point.
    • This exit point is an opening with no gate(s) or door(s).

Ride Exit (Ride Access Passes)

  • Ride Transfer View
    • The carriage is secure and will not move when guests are transferring.
    • Staff are unable to provide assistance when transferring out of/off the ride/attraction.
    • Guests have to step across to the platform when exiting.
    • Access from the platform is via an open doorway.
    • The opening width is 93cm.
    • The entrance to The Vault ride is also used as the Ride Access Pass exit (see photograph 1).
  • Exit Route View
    • Access along this exit route consists of; slight slopes going down, steep slopes going down, slight slopes going up and steep slopes going up.
    • The approximate length of this exit route is 152m.
    • Path surfaces in this exit route are concrete, block paving, resin bound gravel and stone.
    • The minimum width of the exit route is 95cm.
    • Handrails along the ramped/sloped section(s) vary between the left and right hand side or are not provided.
    • There are not any resting/seating areas along the exit route.
    • There are 2 sets of permanently held open doors with opening widths of 113cm and 160cm (see photographs 2 and 3).
      The route then consists of a series of slight downwards slopes that go on to merge with the Fastrack/Ride Access Pass queue (see photograph 8).The route is clearly signed.
      There is a steep slope located at the end of the route (see photograph 14).
