Getting Help and Assistance

  • To book and obtain special assistance and for information please click here (new tab).
  • There is a member of staff available for help and assistance.

  • The alternative formats documents can be provided in include; Braille.

  • The mobility aids available include mobile hoists, ceiling track hoists, wheelchairs, shower chairs and hoist slings.
  • To obtain mobility aids please contact the Special Assistance team in the Check-in Hall.
  • There is a designated place of safety which can be used by people with dementia, autism or learning disabilities.
  • The place of safety is located in the International Departures corridor.

Airport Parking

    • The car park is located directly in front and to the left of the terminal.
    • The car park type is open air/surface.
    • The car park does have a height restriction barrier.
    • The maximum height of the restriction barrier is 210cm (6ft 11in).
    • The car park does have a barrier control system at the entrance.
    • There is a touchscreen at the barrier.
    • The car park surface is tarmac.
    • There is a/are Blue Badge parking bay(s) available.
    • The Blue Badge bay(s) is/are clearly marked.
    • There is/are 10+ designated Blue Badge parking bay(s) within the car park.
    • The dimensions of the designated Blue Badge parking bay(s) surveyed are 240cm x 490cm (7ft 10in x 16ft 1in).
    • There is a 120cm hatched zone around the Blue Badge parking bay(s).
    • There are help points available within the car park.
  • Paying and Booking View
    • There are parking charges for the car park.
    • Parking is not free for pick up and drop off.
    • Payment signs are provided.
    • Payment signs are located at the entrance to the car park, at the payment machines in the car park, throughout the car park and at the payment machines in the building.

  • Exiting the Car Park View

    • Special Assistance Call Point 5 is located in the shelter by the Blue Badge bays in the car park with seating available.
      Card payment may also be made at the car park exit.
      When pre-booking, Blue Badge holders can pay at long stay rates but be upgraded to use the main or short stay car park. For more information on Blue Badge parking pleaser click here (opens in new tab).

Route From Short Stay Car Park to Check-in Hall

  • The distance from the nearest Blue Badge bay in the short stay car park to the Check-in Hall alternative entrance is approximately 130m (a 2/3 minute walk).
  • From your vehicle make your way to the pay and call point shelter by the Blue Badge bays (shown in photograph 1).
  • Follow the path and cross the zebra crossing at the road to the pickup and drop-off area (shown in photograph 2).
  • Traffic will come from the left and there are two lanes to cross.
  • The bollards (shown in photograph 3) are 110cm apart and there is tactile paving on each side.
  • Continue on the path between the next bollards to the pickup and drop-off and area (shown in photograph 4).
  • Continue past the low metal fence (shown in photograph 5) to the crossing on the left (shown in photograph 6).
  • There is a dropped kerb and tactile paving.
  • Turn left and cross the raised zebra crossing across the bus and taxi service road, marked by tactile paving at each end (shown in photograph 7).
  • The traffic will come from the left.
  • At the safety bollards (shown in photograph 8), continue across the zebra crossing across the emergency road then turn right before the main exit doors.
  • Head past the front of the building and past the vending machines on the left (shown in photograph 9) and then enter the Check-in Hall by the alternative entrance (shown in photograph 10).
  • Alternatively continue in front of the building and enter via the main entrance (shown in photograph 11).
