Introduction

  • Services / facilities within the building include The Brunel Graduate School and Medical School.
    The ground floor has various laboratories along the 2 Chemical Engineering corridors running off the central Graduate School lobby / breakout area.
    There are various wet/dry/bio labs and meeting rooms.
    The first floor corridors were closed at the time of survey (March 2022) due to ongoing construction work. The research labs, offices and teaching spaces were not accessible.
    The Brunel Medical School covers the second floor.
    They are various clinical suites, offices, teaching areas and the Brunel Medical School Reception.

Location of Toilet/Changing Facilities

  • Accessible toilet facilities are located on all floors (G, 1, 2).
    The accessible shower is on the ground floor (North-West Chemical Engineering corridor).
  • Female and male standard toilet facilities are located on all floors (G, 1, 2)..
  • Shared standard toilet facilities are located on the ground floor (North-West Chemical Engineering corridor)..

Getting Here

  • By Road View
    • From the M25, turn off at junction 16 onto the M40 and follow this road onto the A40.
      Continue along the A40 until you reach a roundabout and turn right onto the B483 and follow this to the end and turn left onto Hillingdon Road.
      Then, following signs for Brunel University, turn left onto Kingston Lane.
    • There are site/campus car parks available on the university campus that require a permit or are pay and display. Blue Badge holders can park for free.
  • By Bus View
    • There are several buses that run to Brunel University with a bus stop right outside the entrance to the university. The bus services that run are the U1, U2, U4, U5, U7, A10 and the 222.
  • By Train View
    • The nearest train station is West Drayton which is approximately a 15 minute journey from Brunel University. From the station, U3, U5 or 222 buses or a taxi can take you to the university.
  • By Underground View
    • The nearest underground station is Uxbridge Station which is approximately a 10 minute journey via the U1, U3, U4 or U7 bus services or taxi.

    • The north-west ground floor Chemical Engineering corridor (photographs 4-7) has a single, push-pad automatic door with a locked extension leaf from the central breakout area. The push-pad is 100cm high.
    • Other doors have key card or push-buttons (100cm high) to gain access through corridors.
    • There is a sink in the corridor for the laboratories that is 84cm high.
    • The lobby / breakout space (photographs 8-10) has sofas, coffee tables (27cm high), high tables (100cm high), high stools and a vending machine (drinks / snacks) with controls up to 129cm high.
    • There is a kitchen in this area with standard amenities and a 92cm high worksurface (photograph 11).
    • There was ongoing construction work on the ground and first floors with no access to first floor corridors at the time of survey (March 2022).
    • The second floor is for the Brunel Medical School (photographs 16-18) with various clinical communication suites (photograph 19) accessed via key card locked doors.
    • There are fellow’s offices, meeting rooms, an anatomy suite and various clinical skills rooms along the east corridor with no key card access.
    • The student common room is on the second floor by the Quad North stairs and lift 13 (photographs 20-23). The single door, with a locked extension leaf, is 85cm wide and has a key card reader or push-button to enter/exit which are 110-120cm high.
    • There are sofas, coffee tables (43cm high) and a kitchen worksurface 93cm high with a 74cm knee recess. There is an oven, a sink and a boiler that is wall-mounted and is 135cm high.
