Fulham Broadway Underground Station to Fulham Road

  • The exit from Fulham Broadway Underground Station gives access to the rear of the mall in Fulham Broadway Shopping Centre.
  • There is open, flat access from the station into the mall.
  • There is step-free access throughout this part of the route.
  • The mall has stalls, seating areas and escalators along the centre.
  • There are flat, straight, wide walkways to either side of this central area.
  • To reach the main entrance/exit proceed straight ahead along one of the walkways.
  • The flooring in the shopping centre is mainly ceramic tiles with black rubber matting at the main entrance/exit.
  • Lighting levels in the shopping centre are varied and poor in places.
  • There is a bank of 5 sets of double doors at the main entrance/exit.
  • The sets on the far left and the far right are automatic and the other 3 in the centre are manual.
  • Exit the shopping centre onto Fulham Road.

Fulham Road to the Outer Concourse (via Britannia Gate)

  • After exiting the shopping centre turn left onto Fulham Road.
  • There is overhead directional signage for the stadium at the exit but it is difficult to read due to the position and size of the text.
  • The pavement slopes slightly downhill towards the road at the exit.
  • There is a TFL pedestrian map just beyond the exit at the roadside.
  • The path along this part of the route has a flagstone paving surface which is slightly uneven in places.
  • Continue along the path, over a strip of tactile paving and past the steps leading up to Fulham Broadway Methodist Church on the left.
  • After approximately 50m cross the access road to Fulham Broadway Shopping Centre car park (Wandsdown Place).
  • There are dropped kerbs with tactile paving at the crossing point.
  • At this crossing point traffic can come from both directions.
  • Continue along Fulham Road for approximately 90m until you reach another access road.
  • Cross the access road which leads into the Sir Oswald Stoll Mansions.
  • There are dropped kerbs with no tactile paving at the crossing point.
  • Continue to follow the path along Fulham Road for another 130m past a traffic light road crossing.
  • You will pass the Chelsea Village (U) bus stop and reach the Britannia Gate entrance to the ground on the left.
  • Go through the bollards and follow the block paving walkway for approximately 35m until you reach the outer concourse.
  • The gap between the bollards is 140cm and there is a slight downhill slope.
  • There is step-free access onto the outer concourse.

Outer Concourse

  • The outer concourse has either a tarmac or a block paving surface. All stands are accessible via the outer concourse.
    There are some slight slopes located along the concourse.
  • On matchdays there are independent food stalls and mobile counters selling matchday programmes located around the concourse.
    On the Shed End Wall there are photographs and information about Chelsea legends.
  • All entrances into the stadium have step-free access but there are some very easy slopes along the outer concourse.
    There is a steep slope leading up to the East Stand Lower and Upper turnstiles.
  • Clear directional signage is provided on the concourse.
  • There is a stadium plan/map on the concourse.
  • There is a steward/member of staff available for assistance on match days.
