    • The venue is a museum depicting fictional stories with exhibitions, a cafe and a shop.

    • There is step-free level access at the most accessible entrance.
    • There is step-free level access throughout, this may include the use of a lift.
    • The following areas have step-free access via ramps or slopes: the entrance to the ticket office, the access to the Alice Exhibition, the entrance to the Treasure Chamber exhibition.

Entrance

Getting Around

Changing Places (Ground Floor - Left Hand Transfer)

    • There is a lateral transfer space to the left as you face the toilet.

Parent and Baby Room / Feeding Room (Ground Floor)

  • The room surveyed is located within the cloakroom, off the courtyard.
  • There is pictorial signage on or near the door.
  • There is step-free level access into the room.
  • The door opens inwards.
  • The width of the door opening is 80cm.
  • There is a toilet, a wash basin, a hand dryer, a coat hook and a baby changing table in the room.
  • The wash basin has a sensor tap.
  • The room has a waste bin and a nappy/incontinence items bin.
  • There are two toilets, at different heights to suits adults or children.

Lift (Standard Lift)

  • The lift surveyed is located in the courtyard.
  • The journey time to this lift from the ticket office is approximately less than a minute.
  • The most accessible route to the lift has step-free level access and automatic doors.
  • The ground floor, first floor and second floor are accessed by this lift.
  • All of the external lift controls are at a suitable height for a wheelchair user.
  • The lift door opening width is 110cm.
  • All of the internal lift controls are at a suitable height for a wheelchair user.
  • Internally the lift has: a mirror to aid reversing, a hearing assistance alarm system, a visual floor indicator, an audible announcer and a list of floor services/facilities.
  • There is also a platform lift to access the first floor, which is located near the cloakroom.
