Introduction

    • Along the route you will need to cross the Penryn Station car park. .
    • Along the route the pavement will have either block paved or tarmac surfaces.
    • There is a steep slope to reach the Penryn Station Bus Stop from the station.

Penryn Train Station and Car Park

  • The station is on the line from Falmouth Docks to Truro.
  • The station has its own car park.
  • To access the station there are 3 deep steps with handrails on either side (photographs 2, 3, 4 and 5).
  • These steps are clearly marked and have tactile paving at both the top and bottom.
  • The steps can be bypassed by a slight slope with a width of 135cm and handrails on either side (photographs 6, 7 and 8).
  • The entrance is located off the car park area for the station.
  • Also located off the car park is the Sidings Accommodation (photograph 9).
  • In front of you on exiting the station is a pathway across the car park with tactile paving on either side (photographs 10 and 11).

Penryn Station Car Park to Railway Station Bus Stop

  • Exit the Penryn Station Car Park and turn left for approximately 30 metres.
  • The surface of the pavement is tarmac and there is a steep slope.
  • The bus stop is cloistered and has seating.
  • The bus stop serves routes 69, 69A, 231, 442, U1 and U2. Routes U1 and U2 will take you to the Penryn Campus.

Bus Station

  • There are four bus stands located at the bus station. These are labelled A, B, C and D.
  • These bus stops are cloistered and have seating available.
  • Stand A Serves routes U1, U2 and U3.
  • Stand B Serves route 69a.
  • Stand C Serves routes U1 and U2.
  • Stand D Serves routes M6 and U4.

Bus Station to Reception

  • Upon exiting the bus at the bus station turn right and head along the pavement until you reach the main campus reception, a distance of 111 metres from the furthest bus stand.
  • There is approximately 130cm between the bus stands and the edge of the pavement.
  • The bus station area can be seen in photographs 1, 2 and 3.
  • The surface of the pavement is tarmac.
  • There is a very slight downhill gradient as you head towards the reception.
  • As you continue along the path after the bus station the gradient becomes slightly more pronounced (photograph 4).
  • Approximately 10 metres from the reception there are widely spaced bollards, and the surface of the area becomes block paved (photographs 5, 6 and 7).

    • There is a small lip on the threshold of the entrance, with a height of 2cm or below.
