Guernsey Airport Information

Main Car Park to Departures Entrance

  • After parking in the main car park, there is path exiting the car park.
  • Follow the path for approximately 10m, the path merges with the main path.
  • After approximately 40m the path leads to a crossing point with dropped kerbs, the dropped kerbs have tactile paving.
  • The crossing point gives access to the terminal building.
  • After crossing, passengers turn left and follow the path for approximately 20m to the Departures Entrances.

Europcar Drop Off Point to Departures Entrance

  • The Europcar drop off point is located to the left hand side of the main car park.
  • The Europcar bays are clearly marked and signposted.
  • From the bays proceed across the car park towards the terminal building.
  • Proceed onto the path exiting the car park.
  • There are bollards marking the exit area.
  • The width of the path is over 150cm.
  • Follow the path for 5m to the main path.
  • Bear left and proceed along the main path towards the terminal building.
  • Continue to follow the main path for approximately 39m to the Departures entrance.

Overflow Car Park to Departures Entrance

  • After parking in the overflow car park, there is tarmac area leading to a crossing point.
  • The crossing point has dropped kerbs, the dropped kerbs have tactile paving.
  • The crossing point gives access from the overflow car park to the path in front of terminal building.
  • After crossing, follow the path for approximately 95m to the Departures Entrances.
  • The surface of the path is block paving.

Avis and Value Rental Cars Drop Off to Departures Entrance

  • The Avis and Value Rental Cars drop off point is located on the right hand side of the car park, just before the overflow car park.
  • After parking in the Avis and Value Rental Cars drop off point there is an opening in the fenced barrier for pedestrians to exit the drop off point into the overflow car park.
  • Passengers with wheelchairs, buggies and heavy luggage are advised to drop off at the front of the terminal before parking their rental car as cars may park across the exit area.
  • The clear opening width of the exit through the fence is over 150cm.
  • Exit the fenced area and turn left and cross the vehicle entrance area for the overflow car park.
  • Turn right and use the dropped kerb to access the footpath.
  • Follow the footpath to a crossing point.
  • The crossing point has dropped kerbs.
  • The dropped kerbs have tactile paving.
  • The crossing point gives access from the overflow car park to the path in front of terminal building.
  • After crossing, follow the path for approximately 95m to the Departures entrances.
  • The surface of the path is concrete tiles.

Departures Entrance - Check In Desks

  • After entering the airport via the Departures Entrance into the main concourse, the check in desks are located directly ahead after you enter.
  • There is step free access from the entrance to the desks.
  • There is a roped off queuing system, passengers requiring assistance can bypass this is needed.
  • A member of staff can provide assistance with baggage at the desks.
  • There is seating available within the main concourse.
  • The surface of the main concourse is vinyl.

Check In Desks to Departures Lounge - via Security

  • After passengers have checked in any baggage, they are directed to security.
  • Security is located to the right of the check in desks.
  • There is a roped access route to security.
  • Security is approximately 25m from the nearest check in desk using the roped route.
  • There is step-free access from the check in desks to security.
  • A member of staff can provide assistance throughout security and there is alternative route around the security barrier for wheelchair users.
  • The alternative route is 20m from the nearest check in desk.
  • After passing through security, there is step free access into the duty free shop.

Duty Free Shop to Departures Lounge

  • After exiting the security area turn left and proceed through the duty free shop.
  • There is a clear path through the shop to the departures lounge.
  • The minimum aisle width is 132cm.
  • The exit to the departures lounge is 13m from the entrance from the security area.
  • Turn right in front of the counter to enter the departure lounge.

Departures Lounge to Departures Gates

  • Once in the Departure Lounge, there is step free access to the departure gates.
  • There are 5 departure gates.
  • The nearest departure gate is approximately 20m from Security.
  • Priority seating is available at each gate.
  • There are clear pathways between the seating leading to each gate.
  • The departure gates are automatic doors and are 100cm wide.
  • The gates are held open when passengers are boarding.

Departure Gates to Aircraft

  • After passing through the Departure Gates, there is a covered walkway.
  • The covered walkway leads to a number of automatic doors which give access to the apron.
  • The automatic doors are 150cm wide.
  • The automatic doors are held open when passengers are boarding the aircraft.
  • There is step free access across the apron to the aircraft.
  • The distance to the aircraft will vary depending on the departure gate.
  • Departures from Gate 1 are via a slight downwards slope.
  • Depending on the type of aircraft, there are 2 different types of equipment to overcome the steps onto the aircraft.
  • For the propeller planes there is a stair climber chair available.
  • For the jet engine planes there is an ambulift available.
  • Once onboard procedures will vary depending on the airline, before booking contact the airline to find out more information.
