Getting Here

  • By Road View
    • The airport is situated a 15 minute drive from the city centre via the A96 and B9039 as signposted.
      For SatNav please use the postcode IV2 7JB.
    • There is a drop off zone for all passengers within the Short Stay Car Park closest to the terminal.
      Car parking is free for the first 10 minutes to allow time to drop off passengers.
      The Short Stay Car Park and Blue Badge Parking is directly in front of the Terminal Building.
      Blue Badge holders may use this car park for long stay parking at normal long stay parking rates.
      Long Stay Parking is a 5 minute walk (800m) from the Terminal Building via a service road.
      There is also an overflow car park available for short and long stay parking.
  • By Bus View
    • There is a bus stop within 150 metres of the venue.
    • Stagecoach operates the Jet Bus Service to Inverness Airport with up to a 30 minute service between the City of Inverness and the airport and up to an hourly service from the airport to Nairn.
      Buses run more frequently at peak times of the day.
      Please check current timetables before travel and on arrival contact the information desk for assistance with bus timings for your onward journey.
      If travelling by bus from Inverness Airport, passengers should get off at Academy Street by the Eastgate Shopping Centre for access to Inverness inter city train station.

Getting Help and Assistance

  • There is a member of staff available for help and assistance.
  • There is not a member of staff trained in British Sign Language.
  • British Sign Language interpreters cannot be provided on request.
  • There is not an assistance dog toilet or toileting area at the venue/nearby.
  • Water bowls for assistance dogs are available.
  • There are mobility aids available.
  • The mobility aids available include wheelchairs and walking sticks.
  • To obtain mobility aids please contact the Special Assistance Team at the Information Desk.
  • There is a designated place of safety which can be used by people who may feel scared or at risk.
  • The designated place of safety is in the Changing Place, to the right as you enter the Departures entrance.
  • Passengers requiring assistance are requested to pre-book at least 48 hours before the scheduled time of departure for their flight.
    This booking should be made with the your airline carrier, tour operator or travel agent.
    If this information is not made available within these time frames assistance may be limited or delayed.
    Carriage by the airline may also be denied.
    Best efforts will be made at all times to accommodate late bookings for assistance.
    Contact the Information Desk in the main terminal building for further information.
  • On arrival at the airport there are two special assistance call points located in the Short Stay Premium Car Park 1 by the drop off zone, one by the taxi rank and one by the bus stop, with designated shelters adjacent.
    Assistance is then provided at all points from the call point through embarkation onto the aircraft.
  • The information desk is located on the right as you enter the main building via the Departures Entrance. The special assistance waiting area is to the left of the Information Desk.
  • Accessibility on the aircraft is the responsibility of the airline and is dependent on the individual provider.

Access Point (Security - Special Assistance Door)

  • Access Point View
    • The special assistance gate is on the left as you approach security. Access may be by staff or by passenger.
    • This information is for the access point located on the left of the e-gates.
    • There is step-free access at this access point.
    • There is a gate which opens towards you (pull).
    • The gate is easy to open.
    • The width of the gap is 80cm.
    • There is not an information board/map at this access point.

Access Point (E-Gates)

  • Access Point View
    • This information is for the access point located in front of security.
    • There is ramped/sloped access at this access point.
    • There is a gate which opens away from you (push).
    • The width of the gap is 90cm.
    • There are barriers at this access point.
    • The barriers contrast visually with the paving.
    • The minimum width between the security barriers is 70cm.
    • There is not an information board/map at this access point.
    • There are 3 automatic gates that open away from you. The left gate is wider at 90cm. The standard gates are 70cm. The boarding card reader is 99cm high.
  • Ramp/Slope View
    • The ramp/slope is located within the gate.
    • The gradient of the ramp/slope is slight.
    • The ramp/slope is permanent.
    • There is not a level landing at the top of the ramp/slope.
    • There is not a/are not handrail(s) at the ramp.
    • The width of the ramp/slope is 90cm (2ft 11in).

Security

  • The security area is located to the left as you face the check in desks and there is level access to this security area.
  • There are benches before the e-gates at 81cm high.
  • The special assistance and fast track lane is to the left on approach to the security area and the standard lane entrance is to the right.
  • Within the security area there are two lanes, each with a bench and conveyor for baggage and body screening.
    The bench and conveyor height is 80cm and each lane also has security metal detector barriers that are 71cm wide.
  • There is a central 91cm wide gap, permitting access for wheelchair users and here the passengers will be searched by a member of the security staff.
  • There is a body scanner on the left which is 150cm wide.
  • Beyond the security barriers there is an area for passenger use.
  • There are eight 81cm high benches with a wheelchair recess and a built in seat at the end for tying shoe laces etc.
    There is also an armchair available.
  • Passengers may then depart the security area to the right to enter the Departure Lounge.
