Getting Here

  • By Road View
    • Anfield is located within a built up residential area to the north-east of the city centre. On a matchday the club recommends using public transport for a fast and frequent service.
    • Only fans with a pre-booked car parking pass are guaranteed a parking space near the Stadium where a resident parking scheme will be in operation. If you are visiting the Club Store or the Museum and Tour Centre on a non matchday, you can park in the secure car park at the Kenny Dalglish Stand.

  • By Train View
    • The nearest Railway Station is Sandhills Station.
    • There is a Soccerbus which runs between Sandhills Station and the stadium.
      Lime Street Railway Station is Liverpool’s mainline station for regional and national journeys. It is two miles from Anfield. From four and half hours before kick-off there is a dedicated matchday team based in the station to help direct supporters to the most convenient transport services, including buses that will take them directly to the ground. Taxis are also available from Lime Street Station.

Stadium Tour Information

  • The stadium tour is a self guided tour.
  • The tour covers 21 areas, 18 of which are in the Main Stand, the final 3 areas are located in The Kop.
  • Although guides do not escort visitors around the tour, they are available at all areas to provide assistance, including; information about the football club and its history.
  • Stadium tours take place every day of the week, however not on matchdays.
  • Tours that take place on the day before a match will not include the home or away changing rooms.
  • There are 4 tours each day.
  • Tour times are; 10:00, 11.00, 13.00 and 15:00.
  • Booking is available on the day, however it is strongly advised to book in advance.
  • There are 2 accessible toilets available on the tour route. Both accessible toilets are located at area 4, off the upper tier concourse (Level 6).
  • There are standard toilets available at area 2 (upper tier concourse) and area 8 (lower tier concourse).
  • The tour guide can provide assistance with all doors and slopes/ramps along the tour route if required.
  • All of the stadium tour guides have received disability awareness training.

Outside Access (Stadium Tours Entrance)

    • This information is for the entrance located off the Main Stand outer concourse (Paisley Square side).

Audio Guides

  • The audio guides are also available in 9 languages. These include: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Arabic, Indonesian, Mandarin and Thai.

Section 1 - Welcome

  • Before beginning the tour there is a bag check.
  • Following the bag check there are two single doors with unlocked extension leafs (75cm+).
  • The first door leads to a corridor, the second door is located on the right hand side of the corridor and leads into the area behind the Main Stand - W Turnstiles.
  • From here there are escalators that access Level 6.
  • Upon reaching the top of the escalators, turn left and head towards the upper tier concourse.

Escalator(s) (Main Stand - Upper Tier (Level 6))

  • The escalator(s) is/are located to the left as you enter the W turnstiles.
  • The escalators only go up.
  • The escalator(s) steps are not clearly marked.
  • The foot and head of the escalator(s) are not clearly marked.
  • The lighting levels at the escalator(s) are good.
  • Comments View
    • There are similar escalators leading up to the upper tier concourse beyond the S turnstiles. These escalators begin at Level 1.

Section 1 - Welcome (Accessible)

  • Before beginning the tour there is a bag check.
  • Following the bag check continue through the single doors with unlocked extension leafs (75cm+).
  • The accessible route involves taking a second and third door both located at the end of the corridor.
  • These doors lead to a lift that will take you up to the next section of the tour; the upper tier concourse (Level 6)
  • A guide will escort you to the lift.
  • From the lift exit a guide will escort you to the upper concourse via a set of double doors (170cm).

Lift (Accessible Entrance 5 (Paisley Square Side))

  • There is a lift for public use.
  • The lift is located immediately beyond Accessible Entrance 5.
  • The lift is clearly visible from the entrance.
  • The lift is approximately 4m (4yd 1ft) from the Accessible Entrance 5.
  • The lift is a standard lift.
  • A member of staff does not need to be notified for use of the lift.
  • The floors which are accessible by this lift are 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6.
  • There are manual, heavy, double doors to access the lift lobby from the first floor upwards.
  • Clear signs indicating the facilities on each floor are provided on lift lobby landings.

Section 3 - Boom!

  • At the end of the section 2 corridor, turn left and head towards section 3.
  • There is a tour guide located at the sign to provide assistance.
  • There is a movable partition barrier that can be widened if required.
  • This section of the tour involves a short video.
  • A chair can be provided on request.
  • The guide provides a short introduction to the video.
  • The video details the history of Anfield and Liverpool FC (achievements, goals, atmosphere, etc).
  • The video shown on the tour has no subtitles meaning those with hearing impairments will not be able to experience the narration of the video.
  • Once the video has concluded, the projection screen is raised and section 4 is located ahead.
  • There is no audio guide video/commentary for this section of the tour.

Section 5 - Anfield Then and Now

  • At the end of the concourse, turn left and head towards the windows - section 6.

Section 6 - Origins

  • Section 6 involves looking out of large windows that overlook Liverpool and Goodison park.
  • The floor surface changes from concrete to laminate.
  • There is a fixed table with metal barriers below, located at the window which restricts the view for a wheelchair user.
  • Having looked, turn around and head back onto the concourse towards gate U2, turn left and head towards the stairwell and lift which will take you back down to Level 2.
  • There are tour guides available at the stairs and lift for assistance.

Section 7 - Down to Level 2

  • This section of the tour involves heading down to Level 2 and onto the lower tier concourse.
  • Access to the stairwell is via a set of permanently held open double doors (160cm).
  • There are 15+ medium height, clearly marked steps leading down to Level 2.
  • There is a lift available that overcomes these stairs.
  • Having reached Level 2, follow the stadium tour signage along the corridors towards the concourse.
  • There are sets of double and single doors along this section of the tour. All of which have a width of 75cm+ and are permanently held open.
  • There is a tour guide positioned at the bottom of the lift to provide assistance and directions if needed.

Lift (Accessible Entrance 4 (Anfield Road Side))

  • There is a lift for public use.
  • The lift is located immediately beyond Accessible Entrance 4.
  • The lift is clearly visible from the entrance.
  • The lift is approximately 4m (4yd 1ft) from the Accessible Entrance 4.
  • The lift is a standard lift.

Section 8 - The Liverpool FC Family

  • There are various exhibits located along the concourse including; television screens and images showing historic Liverpool FC events in Europe.

  • The seating is staggered with level access to the front row.
  • There is between 1-4 shallow, clearly marked steps accessing the rest of the seating.

  • Further along the concourse there is a photo opportunity with the Champions League trophy.
  • Following the photo opportunity, turn right and head towards section 9, located opposite the Liverpool FC symbol on the column.

Section 9 - Carlsberg Lounge

  • Having reached section 9, continue ahead into The Carlsberg Lounge.
  • There are 2 single doors with open extension leafs (135cm) accessing The Carlsberg Lounge.
  • The surface changes from vinyl to laminate when entering the lounge.
  • There is a strip of carpet extending through the lounge outlining the tour route.
  • There is a mixture of seats with and without armrests available at this section of the tour.
  • Upon reaching the end of the lounge, exit via the double doors (160cm), turn right and head towards the stairs/lift.
  • There is a guide available at this section of the tour to provide directions and assistance if required.
  • This section of the tour involves heading down to Level 0 and into the players and officials area.
  • There are 15+ clearly marked, medium height steps with handrails on both sides leading down to Level 0.
  • There is a lift available that overcomes these stairs.
  • There is seating available on Level 0.
  • Having reached Level 0, go through the double doors that access the players and officials area.
  • Following this, continue ahead following the marked tour route and signage towards section 10 (The Press Room).

Lift (The Boardroom and The Executive Lounge)

  • There is a lift for public use.
  • The lift is located off the main reception foyer, beyond the Carlsberg Lounge.
  • Signs indicating the location of the lift are not available from the entrance.
  • The lift is approximately 30m (32yd 2ft) from the main entrance.
  • The lift is a standard lift.
  • A member of staff does not need to be notified for use of the lift.
  • The floors which are accessible by this lift are 0 (Players and Officials Area), 2 (Main Reception), 3 (The Boardroom), 5 (The Executive Lounge).
  • There are double heavy manual doors to access the lift lobby on Level 0 and Level 2. These doors will be opened by stewards on matchdays.
  • Clear signs indicating the facilities on each floor are provided on lift lobby landings.
  • There is a clear level manoeuvring space of 150cm × 150cm in front of the lift.

Section 10 - The Press Room

  • There is single door with an open extension leaf (135cm) leading into The Press Room.
  • There is seating with no armrests available within the room.
  • There is carpet flooring within the room.
  • There is clear manoeuvring space for wheelchairs within the room.
  • There is an opportunity to sit in the chairs behind the managers/players desk at this section of the tour.
  • There are 2 medium height, clearly marked steps leading up to the desk.
  • To exit, head towards the rear of the room and enter the corridor via a single door with open extension leaf, similar to the one used to enter the room.
  • When exiting, turn left and continue ahead along the corridor.
  • There is a similar second door located immediately beyond the exit.

Section 11 - Flash Booths

  • At the rear of the corridor there is a set of permanently held open double doors (160cm) leading into section 11.
  • This section of the tour covers the area where players have interviews following a match.
  • The corridor and booths are wide and have a vinyl surface.
  • There is good lighting in this area.
  • When finished in this section, turn left and proceed along the corridor towards the away dressing room (section 12).

Section 12 - Away Dressing Room

  • There is a single door with an open extension leaf (135cm) leading into the away dressing room.
  • There is a narrow gap (120cm) beyond the door leading into the main dressing room area.
  • There is a vinyl, non-slip floor within the dressing room.
  • There is bench seating available.
  • There are replica shirts of famous past and present players hanging in the dressing room.
  • There is a video playing at this part of the tour talking about the players which have played at the stadium.
  • Having finished this section of the tour, exit the dressing room via the entrance.

Section 13 - To Home Dressing Room

  • Having exited the away dressing room turn left and head along the corridor towards the home dressing room.
  • Follow the tour route and signage.
  • There are a number of double (170cm) and single (85cm) doors along this section of the tour.
  • There are some slight slopes in places along this section of the route.
  • This section of the tour takes you through the players lounge.
  • There is a mixture of seating with and without armrests in the players lounge.
  • There is vinyl, non-slip flooring along this section of the route.

Section 14 - Home Dressing Room

  • There are a set of permanently held open double doors (160cm) leading into the home dressing room.
  • There is step-free access throughout the dressing room.
  • There is a vinyl, non-slip floor within the dressing room.
  • There is bench seating available.
  • There are replica shirts of present players hanging in the dressing room.
  • There is a tour guide positioned in the dressing room that can provide facts about the team as well as answer any questions you may have.

Section 15 - Game Time

  • Having exited the dressing rooms, follow the tour route/signage into the players tunnel corridor, via the single door located next to the door you used to enter.
  • Once in the corridor, turn right and head towards the players tunnel.
  • There is a set of permanently held open double doors located on route to the players tunnel.
  • There is vinyl, non-slip flooring along this section of the route.

Section 16 - Players Tunnel

  • There are a set of permanently held open double doors (210cm) leading out to the players tunnel.
  • The tunnel itself has a rubber surface.
  • There is a slight downhill gradient along its entirety leading out towards the pitch.
  • At this section of the tour there is an opportunity to see the famous Anfield sign.
  • The sign is located above the double doors.
  • At the end of the tunnel the surface changes from rubber to artificial grass.

Section 17 - Dugouts

  • Having reached the end of the players tunnel, turn right and head towards the home team dugout.
  • The seating in the dugout is accessed via 2 clearly marked, medium height steps.
  • At this stage of the tour it is possible to sit in the managers seat.
  • There is a tour guide positioned at the dugouts to provide facts about the stadium, answer questions and as provide assistance if required.
  • Having finished in the dugouts, continue along the front row walkway of the Main Stand and head towards The Kop.
  • There is a narrow gap (110cm) when entering the front row walkway from the dugouts.
  • The surface changes from artificial grass to concrete when entering the front row walkway from the dugouts.

Section 18 - Walk to the Kop

  • Upon reaching the sign for section 18, continue ahead up the short steep ramp and along the Main Stand front row walkway.
  • The ramp has a blistered metal surface.
  • The ramp has no handrails available.
  • Having reached the end of the walkway, continue ahead down the slight ramp towards The Kop.
  • This ramp has a concrete surface and handrails available on both sides.
  • There is a narrow gap (110cm) when entering the top of the ramp from the walkway.

Section 19 - The Kop

  • Upon exiting the ramp, turn right and head back towards the front row walkway of The Kop.
  • There is a concrete surface with slight gradients in places leading up to the front row walkway.
  • At this stage of the tour there is an opportunity to sit in The Kop to get an idea of what it might feel like during a match.
  • There is 1 seat available for those with mobility impairments, this is located on the front row.
  • The rest of the seating is accessed via 2-15+ clearly marked, medium height steps.

Section 20 - Farewell

  • Having finished at The Kop, head back the way you came towards The Kop lower tier concourse.
  • The surface changes from concrete to vinyl as you enter onto the concourse.
  • There is step-free access throughout the concourse.
  • Having reached the concourse, turn left and you will find a medium height counter at which you can return your audio guide.
  • There is a tour guide positioned at the counter who can provide assistance if needed.

Section 21 - End of Tour

  • Having returned your audio guide, continue ahead towards the turnstiles/tour exit.
  • The surface changes from vinyl to carpet on route to the turnstiles.
  • The turnstiles have a width of 49cm.
  • There is a push button that must be pressed in order to exit through the turnstile.
  • The height of the push button is 117cm.
  • Alternatively, there is a door available that can be used to exit the tour/stand.
  • The exit door has an opening width of 125cm.
  • A tour guide will assist with opening this door.
  • From here you can either head back to the beginning of the stadium tour to purchase your photo with the Champions League trophy, or alternatively, you can head to the club shop which is located to the left after exiting the tour.
