- Riverside Walk Central is a linear park that follows the line of the River Shuttle from Elmwood Road to Crofton Avenue.
- Along the river runs a section of the Shuttle Riverway public footpath that runs from Hall Place (where it connects with the Cray Riverway) to Avery Hill Park in Greenwich (to connect with the Green Chain Walk).
- In addition to a play area, there is a ball court and five a side football area.
Opening Times
- The park is open 24 hours per day.
- There is no street lighting on the paths.

- In Crofton Avenue (picture right) cars are expected to park with two wheels on the pavement.
Elmwood Drive Entrance Gate
- This entrance is located on Elmwood Drive.
- This style of entrance barrier is also used on other sections of the Shuttle Riverway.
- It is intended to prevent motorbikes from entering the park, but allowing access to other users including pedestrians, cyclists, wheelchair users and people with pushchairs.
- Wheelchair and pushchair users follow the same route past a gate which swings both ways into an enclosure which they then must reverse out of.
- The enclosure is 120cm deep and a maximum of 110cm wide.
- The clear opening width at the gate is 95cm.
- Please note that there are horizontal bars above the space which are intended to be above the head-height of wheelchair users.
- The bars are 132cm and 138cm high.
- The space may be insufficient for electric scooters or taller wheelchairs.
- The route from this gate into the park is over grass, with easy - moderate slopes.
Crofton Avenue Entrance
- This entrance is located on Crofton Avenue.
- There is no gate or barrier.
- The clear opening is 170cm.
- The entrance leads on to a firm tarmac path.
- There are moderate - easy slopes on the path but some uneven areas near to the entrance.
Inside Access
- There are tarmac paths between the Crofton Avenue Entrance and the playground.
- This path has an easy - moderate slope.
- The remainder of the park is open grassland.
- The ball court is also set in the grassed area, off the path.
- There is an easy - moderate slope across the playground enclosure.
- The playground surface is tarmac, with localised unevenness where this joins with the rubber play surface around the play equipment.
Outside Access (Playground Entrance)
- This information is for the entrance located from the path from Crofton Avenue.
- There is level access into the venue.
- The main doors open towards you (pull).
- The doors are single width.
- The doors are heavy.
- The door opening is 105cm (3ft 5in) wide.
