    • Clapham Common was historically common land for the parishes of Battersea and Clapham and was first mentioned as far back as 1086 in the famous Domesday Book as being part of the Manor of Clapham.
    • In 1877 it was acquired from the Lords of the Manors by the Metropolitan Board of Works and was protected for present and future generations.

  • Activities within the Clapham Common include an all weather pitch (Redgra surface), Australian rules football pitch, basketball court, cricket nets, cricket wicket pitch, football pitch (grass surface), rugby, netball, skateboard facilities, softball, tennis courts, touch rugby.
  • There is at least one entrance with level access to each of the tennis court areas.
  • The table tennis and fitness areas are on firm surfaces but do not have firm paths to connect them to the main routes.
  • At the time of our visit (November 2020) the bowling green appeared to have fallen out of use.

Paddling Pool

  • The paddling pool is seasonal and was closed at the time of the survey.
  • There is level access to the surround of the paddling pool.
  • There is a step down of approximately 300mm into the pool.
