Merton is one of the safest boroughs in London and one of the greenest. The borough has some great town centres offering good shopping, leisure and cultural facilities as well as some fabulous places to eat, drink and enjoy a night out. Merton’s most famous attraction is The All England Lawn Tennis Club which hosts the Wimbledon Championships every summer. The Lawn Tennis Museum tells the story of the history and traditions of Wimbledon, and tours of the grounds allow visitors to get behind the scenes at the home of British tennis. National Trust site Morden Hall Park is green oasis, giving a taste of a country estate with a glimpse of its agricultural and industrial history.
