Alan Turing Way Bus Stop C

Alan Turing Way Bus Stop C to Alan Turing Way Crossing

  • Exit the bus, turn left and follow the path along Alan Turing Way.
  • The path has a smooth tarmac surface which slopes slightly downhill.
  • After approximately 60 metres you will reach a traffic light crossing on your left.

Alan Turing Way Crossing

  • There are 4 lanes of traffic to cross; 2 lanes with traffic approaching from the right then 2 lanes with traffic approaching from the left.
  • There are central islands for all crossing points.
  • There are dropped kerbs with tactile paving on both sides of the road and through the central islands.
  • All control buttons are at a height of 105cm and have a rotating cone underneath.
  • The road has a tarmac surface and is even.
  • At the third central island bear right and cross the road.
  • At the far side of the crossing turn left and follow the path as it bends around to the right, into Sportcity Way.

Alan Turing Way Crossing to Sportcity Way Crossing

  • From Alan Turing Way crossing, follow the path along Sportcity Way.
  • The path has a tarmac surface.
  • After approximately 30 metres cross a car park access road.
  • There are dropped kerbs and tactile paving on both sides of the crossing.
  • After the crossing pass through an open gateway.
  • The width of the opening is 176cm.
  • Continue along the path past some road signs until you reach the main car park access road.
  • Cross the car park access road.
  • There are dropped kerbs on both sides but no tactile paving.
  • At the far side of the access road turn left to cross Sportcity Way, opposite the walkway to the stadium.

Sportcity Way Crossing to Joe Mercer Way

  • Cross Sportcity Way at the red section in front of the walkway to the stadium.
  • This section of road is flush with the path on both sides but there is no tactile paving.
  • At the far side of the crossing there are 2 rows of bollards.
  • The minimum width through the first row of bollards is 136cm.
  • The minimum width through the second row of bollards is 122cm.
  • The bollards do have a colour contrast with the background.
  • After passing through the bollards there is a pick-up point for the shuttle bus.
  • The shuttle bus can used by ambulant disabled supporters to access the stadium concourse.
  • The shuttle bus drops supporters next to City Square.

Joe Mercer Way to the Outer Concourse

  • Follow Joe Mercer Way for approximately 210 metres and you will reach the outer concourse.
  • The walkway has a blue painted concrete surface.
  • There is a slight uphill slope for the first 100 metres and then it levels out.
  • The walkway is wide and there are bench seats for resting at approximately 50 metres and then 100 metres.
  • There is step-free access onto the outer concourse.

Outer Concourse

  • The outer concourse has a tarmac/resin bound gravel surface and is step-free and mostly smooth throughout.
    All stands are accessible via the outer concourse.
  • On matchdays there are some merchandise cabins located around the outer concourse. The cabins have short, steep ramps for access.
    There are kiosks selling matchday programmes located around the outer concourse.
    The City Square Fanzone is located on the concourse outside the Family Zone.
  • All entrances into the stadium have step-free access.
  • A road closure operates immediately after the event/match to allow pedestrians to leave the Etihad Stadium safely. This is in place for approximately 20 minutes after the event/match.
    Roads affected by the closure include; Ashton New Road – between Alan Turing Way and Darley Street, Grey Mare Lane – between Ashton New Road and Alan Turing Way, Merrill Street – between Pollard Street and Ashton New Road.
  • Clear directional signage is provided on the concourse.
  • There is a stadium plan/map on the concourse.
  • There is a steward/member of staff available for assistance on match days.
