Ashton New Road Bus Stop C

  • Bus Stop C is located on the westbound side of Ashton New Road, on the opposite side of the road to the Etihad Campus.

  • The bus stop is sheltered.
  • There is a bench seat at the bus stop.
  • There is no digital display at this bus stop.
  • There is no audio announcer at this bus stop.
  • The bus routes that use the bus stop include; 216, 231 and the 216 Night Bus.

Ashton New Road Bus Stop C to Grey Mare Lane

  • Exit the bus, turn right and follow Ashton New Road.
  • The path has a flagstone paving surface which is slightly uneven in places.
  • After approximately 50 metres cross an access driveway.
  • There are dropped kerbs and tactile paving on both sides of the crossing.
  • Continue along the path for approximately 35 metres until it bends around to the left and the surface changes from flagstone paving to block paving.
  • When the barrier on the right ends, cross Grey Mare Lane.
  • There are dropped kerbs on both sides of the crossing but no tactile paving.
  • Traffic may approach from both directions.
  • There are no visual or audible signals at this crossing.
  • Once across turn right.

Grey Mare Lane to Ashton New Road Crossing

  • Follow the path as it bends around to the left and rejoins Ashton New Road.
  • The path along this section varies between tarmac, block paving and flagstone paving surfaces.
  • Continue along the path for approximately 130 metres until you reach a traffic light crossing on the right hand side.

Ashton New Road Crossing to the Ashton New Road Walkway

  • Turn right and cross Ashton New Road at the traffic lights.
  • The height of the control button at the crossing is 101cm and there is a rotating cone underneath.
  • The crossing has dropped kerbs and tactile paving on both sides.
  • At the far side continue ahead and bear slightly to the right to where the access ramp down to the outer concourse is located.

Ashton New Road Walkway to the Outer Concourse

  • The walkway from Ashton New Road has a tarmac surface.
  • Use the ramp and then turn right and access the outer concourse via Gate 8.
  • The ramp is approximately 23 metres long with a slight downwards gradient.
  • The ramp has handrails on both sides.
  • Alternative access to the ramp is via 8 steps with handrails on both sides.
  • The steps are not clearly marked but have there is tactile paving at the top and bottom.

Outer Concourse

  • The outer concourse has a tarmac/resin bound gravel surface and is step-free and mostly smooth throughout.
    All stands are accessible via the outer concourse.
  • On matchdays there are some merchandise cabins located around the outer concourse. The cabins have short, steep ramps for access.
    There are kiosks selling matchday programmes located around the outer concourse.
    The City Square Fanzone is located on the concourse outside the Family Zone.
  • All entrances into the stadium have step-free access.
  • A road closure operates immediately after the event/match to allow pedestrians to leave the Etihad Stadium safely. This is in place for approximately 20 minutes after the event/match.
    Roads affected by the closure include; Ashton New Road – between Alan Turing Way and Darley Street, Grey Mare Lane – between Ashton New Road and Alan Turing Way, Merrill Street – between Pollard Street and Ashton New Road.
  • Clear directional signage is provided on the concourse.
  • There is a stadium plan/map on the concourse.
  • There is a steward/member of staff available for assistance on match days.
