By Road
View
- St. James’ Park is located to the north west of Newcastle city centre, close to the junction between Gallowgate, St. James’ Boulevard and Barrack Road. There are various routes to access the stadium.
The postcode for sat-nav users is NE1 4ST. - Car parking is available off Barrack Road. There are 30 designated Blue Badge parking spaces available within the car park.
All spaces within the car park must be booked in advance for a matchday.

There are also a number of public council car parks signposted clearly on arrival in Newcastle city centre and surrounding the stadium, although they may be extremely busy on matchdays.

By Bus

- There is a bus stop within 150 metres of the stadium.
- Newcastle upon Tyne has two major bus stations for local and regional services – Haymarket, for services to and from Northumberland and the North, and Eldon Square, for services to and from County Durham and the South. Both are located on Percy Street, a five-minute walk from St. James’ Park.
To reach the stadium, walk south west on Percy Street and turn right onto Gallowgate. St. James’ Park will become visible on your right.
There is a national express station within 0.8 miles of the stadium (Churchill Street and St James Boulevard).

By Train
View
- The nearest Railway Station is Newcastle Central.
- Newcastle Central Station is approximately a ten minute walk from St. James’ Park. Situated on the East Coast Mainline, it is a principle stop for services between London and Edinburgh/Glasgow. In addition to regional services to Northumberland, Middlesbrough and Carlisle, it also offers direct cross-country routes to and from Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool Birmingham and Bristol.
To walk to St. James’ Park, cross the road from the station and walk up Pink Lane, passing the Forth Hotel public house. Turn right onto Clayton Street, then left onto Westgate Road. Outside Tilleys Bar, bear right onto Bath Lane and after 200 metres, turn right onto Stowell Street (Chinatown) and continue until the ground becomes visible beyond the Chinatown arch. - For more information on National Rail Enquiries please click here (opens new tab).

By Metro

- The nearest Metro station is St. James’.
- Newcastle upon Tyne is served by the Tyne & Wear Metro system; a light rail network with frequent services between Newcastle Airport, Newcastle city centre, the coast, major transport interchanges and destinations south to Wearside.
St. James’ Metro station is recommended for local coastal destinations including North Shields, while Monument station – a five-minute walk away – is served by both yellow and green line routes towards Newcastle International Airport, South Shields and the coast.
To reach St. James’ Park from Monument station, walk west on Blackett Street and continue onto Gallowgate. The stadium will become visible on your right.

Outer Concourse
- There is step-free access along the majority of the outer concourse.
There are some slight slopes in places.
The majority of surfaces consist of; block paving or tarmac. - There are food and drink stands located around the outer concourse.
There are programme stalls located around the outer concourse. - The crowd corridor is a sheltered part of the outer concourse which is underneath the Milburn Stand and Leazes Stand. The crowd corridor can be very congested in the build up to kick-off.
There is a steep slope leading from Strawberry Place up to the crowd corridor. The steep slope is overcome by accessing the crowd corridor from the matchday car park or from Leazes Terrace.
There are 15+ steps leading from Strawberry Place up to the Gallowgate part of the concourse. The steps are overcome by using a ramp located on the outer concourse next to the East Stand. The ramp has a very easy gradient with handrails on both sides.
There is a lift (Accessible Entrance 10) located on Strawberry Place next to the NINE Sports Bar and Lounge which can be used to access the outer concourse. - The concourse is very congested at full time.
