Sunderland College is a multi-centre general Further Education college with main sites throughout the North East region.
The College has invested heavily in its infrastructure and learning facilities, and can offer modern lecture theatres, well-equipped libraries and attractive student amenities.
Alongside the emergence of 2 new 6th form centres and a HE/Commercial centre in recent years, the college accommodation strategy also includes an extensive and ongoing programme of continual improvement and modernisation to its estate.
A key driver of the College is the promotion and celebration of diversity. The College contributes to social cohesion and harmony through a culture which challenges stereotypes and celebrates and respects difference including disability and learning difficulty as well as a range of cultures.
The College also has many links and partnerships with different organisations and businesses throughout Sunderland, offering courses at many different local community venues.
The college Mission is:
To shape and develop lives, communities and the economy through learning.
Our Core Values are: Partnership, Respect, Innovation, Diversity, Ethical. This is illustrated in its Outstanding Ofsted grade for Equality and Diversity awarded in Jan 2010.
