Introduction

  • Hampton Hill High Street is located just to the south of Twickenham, close to the A313.
    This guide covers the main shopping area of the High Street.
    This runs from Park Place and Park Road in the west to Hampton Road and Bushy Park Hampton Hill Gate in the east.
    This is approximately 0.4 miles (643m) and takes around 8 minutes to walk.
    The shopping area is generally level or with slight slopes.
    Footpaths are of concrete paving slabs.
    The road surfaces are tarmac with tactile paving at all crossing points.
    There are opportunities to sit and rest.

Getting Here

  • Hampton Hill High Street is located approximately 1.3 miles from the A316, using the A313 from the north or the A312 from the south.
  • High Street runs from north to south.
  • At the north end it joins with Park Road (A313).
  • At the south end it joins with Uxbridge Road (A312).
  • Parking:
  • There are short stay car parks behind Sainsbury's Local and off Taylor Close.
  • Limited on-street parking is also available.
  • By Bus:
  • There are bus stops on either side of High Street which serve many routes to the surrounding areas.
  • By Train:
  • Fulwell Station is located to the north of High Street, off Wellington Road, on Wellington Gardens.
  • There is not step-free access to the platforms at this station.

  • High Street Car Park:
  • High Street Car Park is located behind Sainsbury's Local.
  • There are no Blue Badge parking bays within this car park.
  • There are standard parking bays in this car park, limited to 2 hours free parking with no return within 1 hour as shown in photographs 1, 2, 3 and 4.
  • Taylor Close Car Park:
  • Taylor Close Car Park is located off Taylor Close.
  • There are no Blue Badge parking bays within this car park.
  • There are standard parking bays in this car park, limited to 4 hours with no return within 1 hour as shown in photographs 5, 6, 7 and 8.
  • Parking is free for Blue Badge holders for a maximum stay of 4 hours.
  • On-Street Parking:
  • There are 2 on-street Blue Badge bays on the east side of High Street.
  • There are located outside Hampton Hill Medical Centre (photograph 9).
  • There are plenty of standard on-street bays on both sides of High Street, limited to 1 hour with no return within an hour (photograph 10).
  • All standard on-street bays have level access to the pavement.

High Street West - Park Place to Park Road (A313)

  • The footpaths are generally level.
  • There may be tables and chairs on the pavement outside cafés.
  • There are cycle racks and poles for road signs set into the pavement.
  • There may also be A-board signs outside shops.
  • There is a push button pedestrian crossing with audible and visual signals.
  • The right-hand push button on each side of the road is fitted with a rotating cone for visually impaired users.
  • There is tactile paving at the crossing.
  • There are bus stops located along the High Street.
  • These are the Holly Road, Cross Street and the Parkside stops which serve routes 285, R68 and R70,
  • There is bench seating close to Shooting Star Chase shop and Tesco Express.
