Introduction

  • Teddington High Street is located just to the south of Twickenham, along the A313.
    This guide covers the main shopping area of High Street.
    This runs from Elmfield Avenue and Station Road in the west, to Twickenham Road and Langham Road in the east.
    This is approximately 0.3 miles (482m) and takes around 7 minutes to walk.
    The shopping area is generally level or with slight slopes.
    Footpaths are of concrete paving slabs.
    The road surfaces are tarmac with tactile paving at the majority of crossing points.
    There are opportunities to sit and rest.

Getting Here

  • By Car:
  • Teddington High Street is located approximately 2 miles from the A316, using Waldegrave Road from the north or the A313 from the west.
  • The High Street runs from west to east.
  • At the west end it joins with Broad Street and Waldegrave Road.
  • At the east end it joins with Kingston Road and Manor Road.
  • Parking:
  • There is a short stay car park opposite Kirby’s Pharmacy & Dentist and limited on-street parking.
  • By Bus:
  • There are bus stops on either side of High Street which serve many routes to the surrounding areas.
  • By Train:
  • Teddington Station is located to the south of the High Street along Station Road.
  • There is step-free access to the platforms at this station.

Parking

  • Cedar Road Car Park:
  • Cedar Road Car Park is located opposite Kirby’s Pharmacy & Dentist in Cedar Road.
  • There are no Blue Badge parking bays within this car park.
  • There are standard parking bays in this car park, limited to 2 hours with no return within 1 hour as shown in photographs 1 and 3.
  • There are 5 bays for electric vehicles only as shown in photograph 2.
  • Parking is free for Blue Badge holders for a maximum stay of 2 hours.
  • On-street Parking:
  • There are no on-street Blue Badge bays along High Street.
  • There are plenty of standard on-street bays on both sides of High Street.
  • There are no dropped kerbs from the bays to the pavement.

High Street North - Elmfield Avenue to Twickenham Road

  • The footpaths are generally level with some slight slopes and trees close to the road.
  • There may be tables and chairs on the pavement outside cafés.
  • There are cycle racks, parking meters and poles for road signs set into the pavement.
  • There may also be A-board signs outside shops.
  • There is bench seating close to Twickenham Road.
  • Along the High Street are Bus Stops for Elmfield Avenue and Cambridge Road which serve routes 281, 285, 681 and R68.

  • The crossing at Elmfield Avenue has level kerbs with tactile paving.
  • The surface of the pavement is concrete slabs.
