Getting Here

  • By Road View
    • Horton Halls of Residence is located in the Upper Tooting / Earlsfield area of South London.
      From the A24, which joins the A3 and South Circular at Clapham with junction 9 of the M25, turn onto Garrett Land (A217) towards Wandsworth at Tooting Broadway. Turn right onto Aboyne Road, then right onto Strathdon Drive, then immediately left onto St George's Grove. If approaching from Wandsworth, turn left onto Garratt Lane off Wandsworth High Street (A3), and follow the road down through Earlsfield, until you turn left onto Aboyne Road.
      Horton Hall of Residence is not located in the Congestion Charge zone.
  • By Bus View
    • There is a bus stop on St George's Grove, approximately 150 metres from the halls, which is served by bus route G1.
  • By Train View
    • The nearest station is Earlsfield station, served by South West Trains, which is approximately 1 mile to the north of the site. From there take bus 44, 77 or 270 to Streatham Cemetery (Stop SK), and then take bus G1 to St George's Grove.
      Haydons Road Station, served by Southern and Thameslink trains, is approximately 1.25 mile from the site, but can be accessed by taking bus 493 from Gap Road Plough Lane (Stop HG), approximately 300 metres from the station, to Hazelhurst Estate (Stop SM). From there walk to the Wimbledon Road (Stop SB) on Garratt Lane (approximately 400 metres) and take Bus G1 to St George's Grove.
  • By Underground View
    • Tooting Broadway station, on the Northern Line, is approximately a mile from the site. Bus G1 can be caught from just outside the station to the St George's Grove.

Useful Information

Building Parking

  • The building does have its own dedicated parking.
  • Building Car Park View
    • The car park can be used by students.
    • Parking charges apply for all except Blue Badge holders.
    • The car park is located to the left as you face the building.
    • The car park type is open air/surface.
    • The car park does not have a height restriction barrier.
    • Designated Blue Badge parking bays are available.
    • There is/are 3 designated parking bay(s) within the car park.
    • The Blue Badge bay(s) is/are clearly marked.
    • The dimensions of the designated parking bay(s) are 238cm x 489cm (7ft 10in x 16ft 1in).

    • The main car park is to the left of the building with one Blue Badge bay and the all other bays are standard bays. There is a barrier to access this car park which students must apply for and pay to use.
    • If the Blue Badge bays at the front of the building are in use, staff will allow access to the Blue Badge bay and standard bays through the barrier to the main car park.

Ramp or Steps to Access Blocks A-E

  • There is a steep permanent ramp split into two sections with 8 landings to enter the courtyard for Blocks A-E.
  • The ramp is 8m from the exit leading from the reception to the courtyard.
  • The first section of the ramp is slight, 8m long, 144cm wide and gives access to Blocks H and I.
  • There is then a level pathway of 27m between the first ramp to the second section of the ramp which provides access to Blocks A-E.
  • The second section of the ramp is steep, 46m long and 189cm wide with 7 landings.
  • There are no handrails for the ramps.
  • There are also 13, unmarked, medium steps with handrails both sides that bypass the majority of the ramp entry to access Blocks A-E.

Outside Access (A Block)

  • There are coin operated accessible washing and drying machines available in the laundry room.
  • Other washers and dryers in the laundry are operated by coin machines located on the far wall at a height of 160cm (shown in photograph 3).
