COVID-19 Information

  • The information in this section was taken in October 2020.
  • The terminal is closed to passengers and flights between 17:00 and 05:00 every night. There is no access into the terminal building during these closure hours.
  • The free set-down option in the Mid-Stay car park has moved to Blue Short Stay. Blue Short Stay is a 10-15 minute walk from the terminal. The Express Set Down (chargeable) remains open as usual.
  • There have been no changes to the entrances or exits.
  • Only passengers flying are allowed to enter the terminal wherever possible. Family/friends/carers may enter to assist passengers who require help on Departure or Arrival.
  • Hand sanitising stations are available at:
    - The main check-in concourse x2.
    - Immediately after Security before Duty Free x2.
    - Immigration before the Border.
    - Baggage Reclaim Hall.
    in addition to handwashing facilities in all existing toilets.
  • Extensive signage is in place to remind passengers about social distancing, the requirement to wear a face covering and to wash hands.
  • Protective screens are in place at all desks including; Check-in Desks, Information Desks, PRM Receptions, and Boarding Gates.
  • There have been no change to the toilet facilities.
  • Face masks are required in all indoor areas at all times, unless when seated to eat/drink. If a passenger is exempt from wearing a face mask for medical reasons they are advised to check with the airline, as all airlines flying from Stansted may require proof of exemption before allowing boarding.

Introduction - Mid Stay Car Park

  • The Mid Stay Car Park is divided into a number of zones.
  • The designated Blue Badge parking spaces are located in Zones A, B and L.
  • There are 70 designated Blue Badge parking spaces.
  • Accessible bays are located in Zone A, B and L.
  • There is a free pick and drop off point located in Zone K.

Getting Here (Mid Stay Car Park)

  • By Road View
    • London Stansted is conveniently situated just off the M11 motorway - use Junction 8a if approaching from the London direction or Junction 8 from the Cambridge side, then follow signs for the airport.
      The postcode for London Stansted Airport Mid Stay Car Park is CM24 1PZ.
      The Mid Stay Car Park accessed from the A120 North via The Bassingbourn roundabout or from A120 South via Mid Stay Car Park roundabout.

Bassingbourn House

  • Bassingbourn House is located to the left of the Mid Stay Car Park entrance.
  • Bassingbourn House contains an accessible toilet and has its own car park with 2 accessible bays.
  • The bays are 360cm x 548cm (11ft 9in x 17ft 11in).
  • There are easy and moderate slopes/ramps leading from the accessible bays to the venue entrance.
  • The slopes/ramps are 150cm (4ft 11in) wide.

Outside Access (Bassingbourn House)

  • There is not a canopy or recess which provides weather protection at this entrance.
  • The entrance door(s) does/do contrast visually with its immediate surroundings.

Airport Shuttle Bus

  • The Airport Shuttle Bus transports passengers from the Mid Stay and Long Stay Car Parks to the Main Terminal Building.

  • The entrance is 120cm and there is a fold out easy ramp 100cm wide for access.
  • The bus driver will unfold the ramp if it is needed.
  • There is designated space for wheelchair users located to the left as you enter the bus and there is a priority seat for disabled people located at the front of the bus.
  • The bus stops at the Terminal Building Hall are located to the right of the entrance to the Arrivals Hall.
