The inscriptions are carved on the curved white granite seat which forms the back of the memorial. There are steps to the seating area with level access to the right.

North Beach Car Park to Town Church via High Street

  • Cross at the controlled crossing, which has dropped kerbs and tactile paving, and turn right towards the traffic island with a flag display.

After 20m Lower Pollet becomes pedestrianised with access for permit holder vehicles only. The roadway slopes up steeply and the surface is cobbled; the footway is original uneven granite slabs.
