Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies to Easter Bush Bus Stop

  • From the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies Main Reception building turn left towards the main road through the campus, passing along the footpath between the building and the car park.
  • The footpath is block paved.
  • There is an easy gradient slope along the footpath.
  • At the end of the footpath, cross the road.
  • There is a marked crossing.
  • The crossing is marked in white paint on the tarmac.
  • The road is quiet.
  • The crossing has a dropped kerb.
  • The dropped kerb has tactile paving.
  • Turn left after crossing the road and continue along the footpath for approximately 38m until you reach the bus stop.
  • Take the number 67 bus towards Hanover Street to Potterrow.
  • The bus service operates hourly throughout the day.

Easter Bush Bus Stop to Potterrow Bus Stop

  • Remain on the number 67 bus for 36 stops.
  • This bus journey should take approximately 35 minutes.
  • Alight at the 37th stop, the Potterrow Bus Stop.

Arrive at Potterrow Bus Stop

  • The nearest bus stop is located along Potterrow and it has no shelter or seating. It serves routes 2, 41, 42, 47, X47 and 67.

Potterrow

  • Turn right along Potterrow.
  • The surface of the pavement is block paving with the occasional manhole cover.
  • There is also a distinct gradient heading downwards towards the road.
  • As you proceed to the pedestrian crossing there is a tarmac service road with drop kerbs on either side. There is a distinct gradient going downhill towards Potterrow as you cross this service road.
  • Head on to the pedestrian crossing across Potterrow.

Potterrow to Marshall Street

  • Use the pedestrian crossing to reach the other side of Potterrow.
  • The pedestrian crossing has traffic lights on either side.
  • There are tactile drop kerbs on either side of the road.
  • The surface of the road is tarmac.
  • On reaching the other side of the road, turn left to head to Marshall Street a distance of approximately 10m.
  • The surface of Potterrow on the far side is block paving.
  • The surface of the pavement here is block paving.

Marshall Street to Bristo Square

  • Turn right and head down Marshall Street for approximately 65m.
  • The surface of the pavement is block paving with the occasional manhole cover.
  • As you continue along the road you will need to cross the service road into the Potterrow Staff Car Park.
  • There is a ramp in front of you for what used to be the accessible entrance into 7 Bristo Square. This is no longer in use.
  • To avoid it you will need to turn slightly to your left into the road which is level with the pavement. This road is rarely used and you will only need to do this for a few metres.
  • After doing so continue straight onwards to reach Bristo Square.

Bristo Square to Potterrow

  • Turn right for approximately 55m to reach Potterrow.
  • There is an uphill gradient to Bristo Place.
  • The surface of the place is concrete followed by a mixture of block paving and cobbled surfaces.
  • As you proceed, you will find the entrance to Potterrow on your right after passing 7 Bristo Square.
