- Christie Building is a medium sized building with 4 floors.

Getting Inside
- The approach to the building is step-free via slight slopes.
- Christie Building has two entrances, one entrance provides step-free access via a slight slope (accessible entrance).
- The main entrance is not signed. The other entrance is signed Accessible Entrance.
- The main entrance has stepped access with manual doors.
Getting Around
- There is step-free level access on the ground and first floors.
- On the Mezzanine level there is stepped access to the male toilets and also stepped access on the corridor leading to the showers. There is no level access to the Mezzanine level.
- There is step-free level internal access between Christie Building and Whitworth Hall on the ground floor and on there first floor the internal access is via a slight slope.
- Floor surfaces along circulation routes are hard and smooth or carpeted and smooth.
There are some floor surfaces which are patterned or have a shiny finish. - There are resting areas in some circulation areas with a mixture of seating.
- Overhead and wall mounted wayfinding signage is provided throughout the building.

- The transfer space varies between left and right in the toilets with adaptations.

- Standard shower facilities are located on the Mezzanine level.
- Parent and baby changing facilities are located in the toilet the adaptations on the ground floor.

Entrance (Accessible)
- This entrance is located at the rear of the building, off The Old Quadrangle.
- The entrance area is clearly signed.
- There is not a canopy or recess which provides weather protection at the entrance.

- There are double manual doors at this entrance, however one door is locked.

- The most accessible route to the lift has manual doors and step-free level access.
- Ground, 1 and 2 floors are accessed by this lift.
- The lift door has a low visual contrast.
- The lift has a level manoeuvring space in front of it for a wheelchair user (150cm x 150cm).
- The external lift control buttons have a low visual contrast.
- All of the external lift controls are at a suitable height for a wheelchair user.
