- James Chadwick Building is a large square building with five floors.
- There are two lifts and two staircases within the building.
- The floors are signed Ground, 1, 2, 3 and 4. This is slightly different inside the lifts where control buttons are marked as 0 instead of Ground.

Getting Inside
- The approach to the building is step-free and level.
- James Chadwick Building has two entrances. Both entrances provide step-free level access to the ground floor with automatic doors.
There are some bollards, with a high colour contrast, on the approach to the building at both entrances. - The entrances are not named (signed as James Chadwick Building).
Getting Around
- There is step-free level access throughout the building on all floors.
- Floor surfaces along all circulation routes are hard and smooth, with some having a shiny finish.
- There is a resting area in lobby with a mixture of seating.
- Wall mounted wayfinding signage is provided throughout the building.
- There are some manual doors to access stairwells and corridors.
Toilet and Changing Facilities
- There are 3 toilets with adaptations.
- Toilets with adaptations are located on the ground, 2 and 4 floors.
- All toilets with adaptations have a right hand transfer space.
- Ambulant toilet facilities are located on floor 3 in the universal toilets.
- The male toilet facilities are located on floors 1, 3 and 4.
