COVID-19 Information

  • The information in this section was taken in January 2021.
  • Most University food outlets are now shut in line with government guidance.
  • Opening times of areas are under constant review given the number of people on campus and government guidance.
  • External queuing systems are located outside the Fresh Shop and Student Services.
  • All buildings have entrances and exits via separate doors to assist with social distancing.
  • Hand sanitising stations are at the entrance to all buildings and in each room used for study spaces.
  • There is a limited number of people allowed inside.
  • The number of people permitted in each room is signed on the door to that space.
  • Clearly signed one way systems have been set up both internally and externally around the campus.
  • There should be no more than one person in the lift at any time.
  • Floor markings and wall signs have been installed to remind people to keep 2m apart.
  • Protective screens have been installed across the university.
  • Some urinals and cubicles in toilets have been closed to assist with social distancing.
  • All showers are available, but the number of people permitted in them is indicated by a sign on the door.
  • All staff, students and visitors are expected to wear face masks when inside buildings, unless they are in a single office.

Getting Here

  • By Road View
    • The University of Bath is to the South East of Bath on Claverton Down. From the M4, Junction 18, take the A46 towards Bath for 10km. At the junction with the A4 turn right onto London Road West (A4) and follow the road for 2km to the junction with Cleveland Place.
      take the left hand lane (signed for through traffic) across the bridge and straight ahead onto Bathwick Street (A36), after 750m bear right at the junction with the Warminster road and continue up the hill to the roundabout.
      Take the first turning up Bathwick Hill which is signposted University of Bath and American Museum. At the top of the hill keep straight ahead onto Claverton Down Road. The clearly marked turning is 50m on the left. There is a one-way system in operation on the campus.
    • There is permit parking available in East and West Car Parks together with a pay and display parking area off the East Car Park. For details see the specific guides.
  • By Bus View
    • Bath Unibus, operated by First Buses, has three routes U1, U2 and U3.
      U1 runs to and from the city centre via Bathwick Hill with the route extended to Oldfield Park early, late, weekend and in university holidays.
      The U2 service runs to and from Twerton via Combe Down, Southdown and Whiteway with buses running until 10pm on weekdays and 6pm on Saturdays with no Sunday service.
      The U3 service runs daytime only and not at weekends direct to and from Oldfield Park.
  • By Train View
    • There are frequent train services from London, Bristol, the South West and South Wales to Bath Spa Railway Station.
