Senate House Main Reception to Senate House Main Entrance
- From the main reception proceed out of the building via the 2 sets of automatic double doors.
- Proceed towards the quad.
- The surface of the approach to the quad is block paved.
Ramped Route through Senate House Quad
- Bear left to the ramped access around the quad.
- The ramp has an easy downward gradient.
- There is a handrail on the left as you proceed down the ramp.
- The surface of the footpath is block paved.
- The footpath follows a curved path around the edge of the quad.
- After approximately 39m the path becomes level.
Stepped Route through Senate House Quad
- Proceed straight ahead.
- There are 5 medium height steps without handrails.
- The steps are not clearly marked.
- There is not tactile paving at the top and bottom of the steps.
- Proceed across the quad.
- The surface of the steps is block paved.
- The surface of the quad is concrete tiles.
- The surface of the footpath at the eastern edge of the quad is block paved.
Senate House Quad to Moor Lane
- Continue straight ahead, following the footpath towards Bolton One.
- The surface of the footpath is block paved.
- Continue along the front of Bolton One.
- There is an easy uphill gradient just beyond Bolton One, leading to Moor Lane.
Cross Moor Lane
- The crossing point is pedestrian controlled.
- The height of the buttons is 108cm.
- There are 2 islands at this crossing point.
- There are dropped kerbs with tactile paving at all sections of this crossing point.
- The first island is narrow with a staggered crossing point (shown in photograph 3).
- After crossing to the second island bear slightly left and proceed to the second island.
- The surface of this crossing point is tarmac road with block paved islands.
Moor Lane to Black Horse Street
- After crossing Moor Lane bear slightly right and proceed onto Trinity Street.
- The surface of this section of the route is tarmac.
- There are some uneven areas along this section of the route which may cause a trip hazard.
- The footpath is shared with bicycles.
- After approximately 170m bear slight left onto Black Horse Street and cross Black Horse Street.
Cross Black Horse Street
- The crossing is pedestrian controlled.
- The height of the buttons is 108cm.
- There are 2 islands at this crossing point.
- There are dropped kerbs with tactile paving at all sections of this crossing point.
- The crossing at the first island is staggered.
- After crossing to the second island bear slightly left to cross to the opposite side of Black Horse Street.

Black Horse Street
- Proceed along Black Horse Street.
- The surface of the footpath along this section of the route is tarmac.
- After approximately 52m bear slightly right to the pedestrian crossing for the access road to Morrisons.
- The crossing is pedestrian controlled.

- There is a central island at this crossing.
- The crossing is shared with bicycles.

- After crossing the road bear slight left and then slight left to continue along Black Horse Street.
Black Horse Street to Newport Street
- Bear right onto Great Moor Street.
- There is a pedestrian crossing with tactile paving to pass on the first 15m of this section.
- The footpath is a shared pathway with bicycles.
- The surface of the pavement is tarmac.
- After approximately 23m cross the service road for Morrisons (shown in photograph 2).
- There are dropped kerbs without tactile paving.
- Just beyond the service road the surface of the footpath becomes stone tiles.
- After 30m bear slightly right, continuing along Great Moor Street.

- After approximately 85m cross Soho Street (shown in photographs 7 and 8).

- There is an easy gradient from the sides of the footpath to the centre.
- After 40m bear slightly right onto Newport Street towards the crossing.
- There are some slight trip hazards created by manhole covers and uneven surfaces along this section of the route.
Cross Newport Street
- The crossing is pedestrian controlled.
- The height of the button at the crossing is 108cm.
- The road is slightly raised creating a level crossing point.
- The surface of the crossing is tarmac.
Newport Street to Bolton Central
- Bolton Central is immediately ahead.
- The surface of the pavement is stone tiles.
- There is an easy downhill gradient leading from Newport Street to the building.
- There is level access at the entrance to the building.
