• By Road View
  • From the north, take the M74 (A74M) south to exit 15 Moffat/Dumfries, then follow the A701 to Dumfries town centre.
    From the south, take the M74 north to exit 22 Gretna, signposted A75 Dumfries/Stranraer, then follow the A75 to Dumfries.
    On arrival in Dumfries, follow signs for The Crichton. This will take you through the town centre and up Bankend Road, past the Mountainhall Treatment Centre. At the main entrance to the Crichton Estate, follow signs for the University Campus and the Rutherford/McCowan building. Parking is available at Dudgeon House.
  • There is designated parking adjacent to the building and a main car park for the campus located opposite the building.
• By Bus View
  • The Chricton campus is served by Stagecoach Buses 1, 5 and 5A. Bankend Road nearby is also served by Houstons Coaches 372, 571, 875 and 881. A bus service runs roughly every 20 minutes from Dumfries town centre.
    There is a direct daily bus from London to Dumfries and a regular bus link to Glasgow. Coach services from other parts of Scotland (Edinburgh, Borders), England, Wales and Northern Ireland are also available.

  • The nearest railway station is Dumfries located 2 miles away in the town centre. Dumfries has direct rail links to Glasgow and Carlisle. From these stations you can access routes across the rest of the UK.
