Building Parking

  • The building does not have its own dedicated parking.

Refuge Points

  • The refuge intercom system is located next to the 4 lifts located in each corner of the building from the first floor upwards.
  • The call buttons are 100 to 115cm in height.
  • The refuge points also have braille markings and connect to the hearing loops.

Lift (First to Fourth Floor)

    • There are 2 parts to the library within the building.
    • The Mindsphere Lounge is located on the ground floor and books can be loaned from here (as shown in photographs 1 and 2).
    • There are security gates 90cm wide into Library Connect (as shown in photograph 3).
    • The Library Reference Collection is located on the fourth floor and books here cannot be removed from the library (as shown in photographs 5, 6 and 7).
    • Any student requiring a book in Braille format can contact the university's Disability and Dyslexia Support Service (DDSS) and a copy can be provided within 7 days.
    • Students with disabilities such as a visual or mobility impairment will be allocated a library support worker.
    • The support worker is able to have small section of a book (a chapter for example) produced in large print.
    • If a student requires an entire book in large print format an electronic copy can be ordered from the publisher to allow them to increase the size of the text via computer software.
    • The accessible software available includes: Dolphin EasyConverter, Inspiration, JAWS, Lex, MindView, Readit, Read & Write, ZoomText.
    • The text enlarger (as shown in photograph 7) is located within the library reference collection room and can be booked in advance.
    • There are 5 height adjustable desks available.
    • One is located in the library reference collection room.
    • Two are located in Silent Study Room 4.02.
    • A further two are located in Silent Study Room 4.26.
    • Both silent study rooms are also located on the fourth floor.

Male and Female Prayer Rooms

  • Photographs 1 and 2 show the male prayer room.
  • Photographs 3 and 4 show the female prayer room.
  • The prayer rooms are located at the front left of the building on the first floor outside lecture theatre 8.
  • The doors into both rooms are single heavy doors with an unlocked extension leaf.
  • They are both 85cm wide.
  • There is a TV and prayer mats available in both rooms.
