Getting Here

  • By Road View
    • From the M1: Exit the M1 at junction 35A and take the A616 towards Manchester.
      Turn left onto the A6102 towards Oughtibridge.
      Follow the A6102, Manchester Road, to Wharncliffe Side.
      Take a right onto Brightholmlee Lane.
      Continue on to Thorn House Lane.
      After about a mile turn left onto Brightholmlee Road.
      After about half a mile continue over the crossroads onto Peat Pits Lane.
      At the end of the lane turn left onto Onesacre Road and continue onto Lumb Lane.
      Bradfield Field Station is beyond the first gate on the right after the houses just beyond the junction with Delf Road.
      Enter the gate and drive up to the building.

      From the Geography and Planning Building on Campus: Head out of the city on Winter Street, continuing on to Crookes Valley Road.
      Cross over Crookesmoor Road onto Barber Road.
      Take a slight right onto Commonside and continue onto Howard Road.
      Follow Howard Road onto South Road.
      At the end of South Road take a right onto Walkley Road.
      At the end of the road take a left onto Walkley Bank Road.
      Follow Walkley Bank Road to the crossroads, and go straight across to Rivelin Bank.
      Follow Rivelin Bank to the end of the road.
      Turn left onto Watersmeet Road, and turn right onto Rivelin Valley Road (A6101) to cross over the river.
      At the junction turn left onto Holme Lane and take a right onto Loxley Road (B6077).
      Follow Loxley Road for 4.2 miles to High Bradfield.
      Continue on to Brown House Lane.
      At the junction continue on to Bolsterstone Road.
      Turn right onto Onesacre Road and continue onto Lumb Lane.
      Bradfield Field Station is beyond the first gate on the right after the houses just beyond the junction with Delf Road.
      Enter the gate and drive up to the building.
    • The centre has its own car park, with a limited number of spaces.
  • By Bus View
    • The centre can be reached by using the number 61 or 62 bus from Hillsborough Interchange.
      The nearest bus stop is Old Horns Inn/Woodfall Lane in High Bradfield.
      The centre is then reached by walking up Brown House Lane, turning right onto Bolsterstone Road, right onto Onesacre Road and continuing onto Lumb Lane.
      Bradfield Field Station is beyond the first gate on the left after the houses just beyond the junction with Delf Road. Enter the gate and walk up the private road to the building.
      The centre is about 1.5 miles from the nearest bus stop.

Useful Information

Approach Road

  • The centre is accessed via a private road.
  • There are two gates to access the centre, one at the entrance to the private road from Lumb Lane, the other in front of the car park.
