    • The offices in the Chiltern Building accessible from this entrance (formerly the admissions office) were not in use at the time of our visit (October 2017).
    • This entrance is also the route to the Marylebone Building lift C, stairwell C and the Marylebone ground floor accessible and standard toilets.

Entrance (Chiltern Building Entrance B)

    • This information is for the entrance located off the main ground floor concourse of the Marylebone building.
    • There is step free access at this entrance.
    • The main door(s) open(s) away from you (push).
    • The door(s) is / are single (with an unlocked extension leaf).
    • The door(s) is / are permanently held open.
    • The width of the door opening is 123cm (4ft).
  • Comments View
    • This entrance leads to the main Chiltern lift and stairs.
    • There is also signage in the Marylebone concourse to Chiltern entrance C.
    • It is believed that this refers to a rarely used entrance directly from the rear courtyard into the second staircase in the Chiltern Building.
    • There is not a lift in this location.

Inside Access

  • There is level access to the service.
  • There is not a hearing assistance system.

  • The lighting levels are varied.
  • Comments View
    • On the upper floors the entrances to the teaching rooms are generally highlighted by a red patch in the dark grey carpet at the doorway.
    • Chiltern Hall is a large multi-purpose teaching space on the ground floor, which can be subdivided into three smaller rooms.
    • It is accessed directly from the main Marylebone concourse.

Other Floors (Chiltern Stairwell D)

    • The floors which are accessible by stairs are G, 1, 2, 3 and 4.
    • The stairs are located opposite the Chiltern lift.
    • The stairs are approximately 8m from the Chiltern entrance B.

    • There are manual, heavy, single doors to access the stairwell from the first floor upwards.

    • The steps have a handrail on both sides.
