Entrance (Ticket Office)

Stairs (Entrance to Main Lift Lobby)

  • The floors which are accessible by stairs are Entrance to the Main Lift Lobby.
  • There are 15+ steps between floors.
  • The steps are not clearly marked with handrails on both sides.
  • This is a spiral staircase and will be narrower in some areas.

Lift (Lift Lobby to Awards)

  • The floors which are accessible by this lift are the lobby area and the awards area.
  • Externally the lift has: a door with a good colour contrast to the surroundings, buttons with a fair colour contrast to the surroundings and controls at a recommended height (between 90 - 110cm).
  • The lift door opening width is 120cm.
  • The dimensions of the lift are 170cm x 160cm.
  • Internally the lift has: controls at a recommended height (between 90 - 120cm), tactile markings, buttons with a poor colour contrast to the surroundings, a visual floor indicator and an audible announcer.

  • Lighting levels are low in some areas.
  • There is very slight slope leading down to the awards area. There is a slight slope leading to the awards photograph opportunity. From the Awards area the route moves onto the Alien Escape exhibition. There is a slight slope to access the Alien Escape exhibition. The lighting levels are very low in the Alien Escape exhibition. If a guest doesn't wish to go through the Alien Escape exhibition, there is a slight slope which can be used to bypass it and give direct access to the film exhibition. There is a wax hands counter located in the film area, the height of the counter is 95cm. In all areas the walkways can get very congested. To get to the next area, go back to the accessible lift to go to the Sports/Culture, Royal Family, and Impossible Festival Exhibition.

There is a slight slope to access the photo opportunities in the Impossible Festival. The walkways can be congested. There is stepped access leading down from the Impossible Festival to the Chambers of Horrors area and Spirit of London. Both areas can be accessed by the accessible lift.

Accessible Toilet (Sports and Culture - Right Hand Transfer)

  • This accessible toilet is located next to the Sports and Culture area.
  • There is step-free level access into the accessible toilet.
  • There is pictorial and written text signage on or near the door.
  • The door is manual, opens outwards and has a poor colour contrast.
  • The width of the accessible toilet door opening is 79cm.
  • The door has a locking handle.
  • The dimensions of the cubicle are 155cm x 190cm and it does not have a 150cm x 150cm turning space.
  • There is a lateral transfer space to the right of the seat.

  • The following may be experienced on the tour: smoke, fog, or misting effects, flash photography and sudden loud noises.
  • Some flooring in the area is smooth and even.
  • Where the flooring is not smooth or even, this is due to uneven paving/tiles.
  • Some of the flooring includes large repeating patterns in bold colours, which may look like steps or holes to some people.
  • Lighting levels are low here.
  • There is step free access throughout the Chamber of Horrors. Guests not wishing to go through the Chambers of Horrors can bypass it and go directly to the Spirt of London Ride or Marvel area. There is slope leading up to the entrance to the Blind Beggar. There is a slope leading to the Jail area. The lighting levels can be very low in some parts of the Chamber of Horrors. The flooring is uneven in places and there are potential trip hazards. There are jump scares in places. At the rear of the Chamber of Horrors there is stepped access to the corridor leading to the Spirit of London ride. The steps can be overcome by using the accessible lift.

Spirit of London Ride

  • There is step only access onto the Spirit of London Ride and guests must be able to transfer from their wheelchair into the carriage.
  • The carriages are moving at the transfer point but staff can stop them.
  • There are VR headsets available for guests who can't access the ride to experience it, please speak to a member of staff for more information.

Accessible Toilet (Fame and Spirit Of London - Left Hand transfer)

  • This accessible toilet is located along the corridor to Fame and Spirit of London.
  • There is step-free level access into the accessible toilet.
  • There is pictorial signage on or near the door.
  • The door is manual, opens outwards and has a poor colour contrast.
  • The width of the accessible toilet door opening is 85cm.
  • The door has a locking handle.
  • The dimensions of the cubicle are 155cm x 215cm and it has a turning space of at least 150cm x 150cm.

  • The main route to the exhibit from the Marvel 4D Cinema is stepped access and gives access to the Prequel Trilogy exhibits. The accessible route to the exhibit gives access to the rear of the area, in the Original Trilogy area next to the Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi exhibits. There is a ramp leading down from the Yoda on Dagoba area down to the New Hope exhibits and Prequel Trilogy. The walkways can get very busy with other guests, it may be best to wait for them to pass before going to the start of the exhibit. There is a step up to the Mustafar photograph opportunity and the seats are fixed at the Millennium Falcon. The lift to exit the area and Madame Tussauds is located next to the Return of the Jedi exhibits.
