Introduction

• The following information describes the route from Morfa Retail Park Bus Stop (Route 34 from City Centre towards Neath) to the Swansea.com Stadium.
• The approximate distance of this route is 500m.
• The route takes approximately 10-15 minutes.
• The majority of paths along the route consist of concrete, tarmac and block paving.
• The potential hazards on this route include; congested pathways, overgrown hedges, lamp posts, sign posts, slight slopes and road crossings.

Morfa Retail Park Bus Stop

• Morfa Retail Park Bus Stop is located on Brunel Way.
• The bus stop is used for buses coming from Swansea City Centre towards Neath.
• There is step-free access to the bus shelter.
• The bus stop is sheltered.
• There is fixed seating within the bus shelter.
• The seating does not have armrests.

Morfa Retail Park Bus Stop to Brunel Way (Morrisons Access Road)

• After exiting the bus, turn left and follow Neath Road for approximately 80m until the path bears right onto Morrisons access road.
• At the turning onto Morrisons access road there are some overgrown hedges which reduce the width of the path.
• There is step-free access along this part of the route.
• The surface of the path throughout this part of the route is tarmac and block paving.
• After turning right onto Morrisons access road follow the path for approximately 30m until the path reaches the crossing point.
• The crossing point has a dropped kerb at either side of the road with tactile paving.

Brunel Way (Morrisons Access Road) to Morfa Retail Park

• After completing the crossing turn left and follow Brunel Way for approximately 40m where the path bears right.
• After bearing right the path goes through Morrisons car park.
• Follow the path for approximately 60m until the path reaches the Morfa Retail Park.
• After Morrisons access road crossing there is a signpost and an overgrown hedge which reduces the width of the path to approximately 75cm wide.
• If the gap is too narrow an alternative route can be taken through Morrisons car park, to follow this alternative route turn right after crossing instead of left.
• There is step-free access along this part of the route.
• The surface of the path throughout this part of the route is tarmac.

Morfa Retail Park to the Morfa Retail Park Pedestrian Crossing

• Turn left from Brunel Way onto the Morfa Retail Park pathway.
• Follow the path for approximately 80m until the path reaches the pedestrian crossing.
• There is step-free access along this part of the route.
• The surface of the path throughout this part of the route is tarmac.
• There is bench seating located at regular intervals along the path.

Morfa Retail Park Pedestrian Crossing

• The Morfa Retail Park crossing consists of two crossing points.
• The crossing points have dropped kerbs with tactile paving.
• The crossing points are controlled by visual indicators.
• The visual indicators are activated by push buttons.
• There are rotating cones located at the base of the push button boxes to indicate when it is safe to cross.
• Caution is advised when crossing because of traffic.
• At the first crossing point the traffic is coming from the right.
• At the second crossing point the traffic is coming from the left.
• After completing crossing point turn right and follow the path.

Morfa Retail Park Pedestrian Crossing to Brunel Way

• After the pedestrian crossing follow the path for approximately 95m until the path reaches the bridge over the River Tawe.
• There is a slight slope on both sides of the bridge.
• After crossing the bridge follow the path for a further a 15 minutes until you reach the south-east corner of the outer concourse (Brunel Way).

Brunel Way to the Outer Concourse

• There are two possible routes/access points to the outer concourse.
• The first route is a short path which leads towards the south-east corner of the outer concourse.
• The surface of this path is tarmac and has a steep slope leading to the outer concourse.
• There are two sets of bollards on this path.
• The second route is a path which runs alongside the East Stand.
• Follow the path for approximately 110m.
• At the end of the path turn left and cross the road to access the outer concourse.
• There is a dropped kerb at the road giving access onto the south-west corner of the outer concourse.

Outer Concourse

• The outer concourse has a concrete surface and is step-free throughout. All stands are accessible via the outer concourse.
• On matchdays there are independent food stalls and mobile counters selling match day programmes located around the concourse. The Jacks Fan Zone is located on the concourse at the corner of the South Stand- Family Stand.
• All entrances into the stadium have step-free access.
• There are Braille and tactile maps of the stadium located on all corners of the concourse. There are bollards located across the walkway as it passes in front of the main reception entrance.
• Clear directional signage is provided on the concourse.
• There is a stadium plan/map on the concourse.
• There is a steward/member of staff available for assistance on matchdays.
