Getting To The Hospital

  • St Peter’s Hospital is located between Woking and Chertsey approximately 1.5 miles away from junction 11 of the M25. From junction 11 follow the A317 west until you reach a roundabout from where the hospital is signposted.
  • The hospital has a couple of onsite car parks all of which are chargeable including for Blue Badge holders. However, there are free 20 minute pickup and drop off points at the front of the hospital. Parking charges are as follows: First 20 minutes Free for drop off Up to 2 hours £3.50 2 to 3 hours £4.00 3 to 4 hours £5.00 4 to 5 hours £6.00 5 to 6 hours £7.00 6 to 24 hours £8.00 Up to one week £20.00 For Blue Badge holders who may find it easier to pre-purchase parking tickets, we now offer the facility for you to purchase up to six 2 hour tickets in advance, at £3.50 each. You can do this through our Travel Plan Office at St Peter’s Hospital or from the Cashier’s Office at Ashford Hospital. For those with mobility issues who find it difficult to reach our clinics or wards, our porters can be pre-booked to help you on arrival. Please call 01932 722036 two days in advance and one of our team will make sure they are on hand to greet you when you arrive. Parking concessions We recognise that for some patients visiting our hospitals regularly car parking costs can be a burden. We therefore offer the following concessions which are applicable at both of our hospital sites: Frequent visitors Weekly parking permit - £20.00 Patients attending Haematology/Oncology Day units Free for period of treatment Patients attending long term cardiac rehabilitation clinics Free for period of treatment Parents attending our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at St Peter’s Hospital Three weekly permit - £20.00.
  • There are regular bus services operating to St Peter’s Hospital from Woking, Staines and other surrounding areas. There is also a hopper shuttle bus which runs between Ashford and St Peters hospital sites, on Monday to Friday only, and is freely available to all staff, patients and visitors. Wheelchairs, baby buggies, pushchairs and walking frames cannot be accepted on the hopper bus due to the limited capacity of the vehicles and no secure storage available on the vehicles.
  • The nearest train stations to the hospital are in Chertsey (approximately 1.1 miles away) or Woking (approximately 4.4 miles away). Both stations are on the main bus routes.

Getting Help and Assistance

  • There is a Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) at the hospital.

    • Patient/visitor parking is situated in a number of places. These include pay and display and pay on exit car parks. There are a number of Blue Badge bays close to hospital entrances.
    • Unless you are visiting out of peak weekday hours it is recommended you park in the main Outpatients visitor car park where most spaces are available.
    • Parking charges are free for the first 20 minutes and then start at £3.50 for up to 2 hours, increasing by £1 an hour up to six hours. Getting To (Swift Ward)

  • The Swift Ward is/are located on Level 4 of the Duchess of Kent Wing.

  • Access to the Swift Ward is via the Duchess of Kent Wing entrance.
  • After entering the hospital via the Duchess of Kent Wing entrance, turn right and follow the corridor past two sets of double doors until you reach the lifts on your right hand side. Take the lifts to Level 4 and on exiting turn left and proceed along the corridor through the open double doors. Once past the doors, turn right into the corridor and the entrance to the Swift Ward is at the end on the right hand side.
  • There is step free access, via lift, to the Swift Ward.
  • The Swift Ward is approximately 35m from the lift.
  • Wayfinding signage is provided.
  • Dementia friendly signage is not provided.
  • There is flooring in corridors which is shiny and could cause issues with glare or look slippery to some people.
