Getting To The Hospital

By Road
View
- The hospital is signposted from both the town centre and the motorway. Follow the A682 (Colne Road). The hospital is located on the A6114 (Casterton Avenue). The postcode to use for a sat-nav is BB10 2PQ.
- All external visitors to the hospital are encouraged to park in the 6 designated 'Pay & Display' car parks around the hospital. Car Park 1 is opposite the Victoria Wing. Car Park 2 is opposite the UCLan building. Car Park 3 is outside the Lancashire Women and Newborn Centre. Car Park 4 is on Casterton Avenue opposite the Fairhurst Building. Car Park 5 is opposite the main Outpatients Department. Car Park 6 is opposite the Main Hospital Entrance Area 7.

By Bus
View
- There is a bus stop located close to both of the entrances on Casterton Avenue and Briercliffe Road. You can use Travelines online journey planner to start to plan your journey by bus. The Hospital Trust has made a commitment to provide free transport between Burnley General Teaching Hospital and Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital for patients and visitors. The service operates from 06:15 to 21:30 Monday to Friday. A reduced service will operate on weekends and bank holidays.

- Burnley Central Station is 1.5 miles away. Brierfield Station is 1.5 miles away. There are good bus connections from both stations with short walking distances.

Getting Help and Assistance
- There are volunteers available for help and assistance at the hospital.
- Volunteers can be found at the Main Hospital Entrance Area 7 reception, the Customer Relations desk at the main outpatients entrance Area 1, and by the entrance to The Fairhurst Building.
- Documents are available in an alternative format and can be provided to include: Braille on request and large print on request.
- There is an assistance dog toilet or toileting area on the hospital site.
- The assistance dog toilet or toileting area is located on the grass areas around the hospital buildings.
- Water bowls for assistance dogs are available.
- BSL interpreters can be provided on request.
- Language interpreters can be provided on request.
