Trails

  • There is a steep slope both before and after the bridge to enter the reserve.
  • There are four main trails at the nature reserve.
  • The Great Fen View Trail is 0.6 miles long and takes approximately 1 hour to complete.
  • The Bungalow Trail is 0.75 miles long and takes approximately 30 minutes to complete.
  • The Marsh Harrier Trail is 1 mile long and takes approximately 1 hour to complete.
  • The Water Bird Trail is 1.5 miles long and takes approximately 1 hour 30 minutes to complete.
  • The surface of the pathways along the trails are compacted earth, loose chippings and grass.
  • The pathways are uneven in places and very muddy during poor weather.
  • There are easy, moderate and steep slopes at various points along the trail.
  • There is directional signage for all the trails located at pathway intersections and denoted by different symbols and a large map located at the bottom of slope after the bridge to enter the reserve.
  • No dogs are allowed except for assistance dogs.
  • There is stepped access only to the hides located on the trails.
