Access Guide
Access To (Party Yurts)
- The Party Yurts are located to the left of the animal enclosures area off the main park central area. From the Blue Badge car park follow the path beside the toilet blocks to the left, then turn right into the central area. Continue diagonally left past the Taco Bar and Victoria’s Ice Cream Parlour and over between California Cove on the left and the Gift Shop on the right. Follow the path round to the left with the Sea Lions outdoor enclosure on the left. The Party Yurts are located opposite the Sea Lions, towards the rear of the Meerkat Mansions.
- The distance from Blue Badge car park is 140m.
- The most accessible route has a very easy slope.
Exhibition Space (Party Yurts)
- The venue is internal and external.
- There is step-free level access throughout all areas.
- The following areas have step-free access via ramps or slopes: the Party Yurts.
- Access throughout may include manual doors.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm).
- The walls and floor have a medium visual contrast.
- The following may be experienced here: lighting effects.
- There may be background noise.
- Lighting levels were low at the time of the survey.
- There is not a hearing assistance system.
- Seating available in this area includes: benches and stools.
- Furniture available in this area includes: picnic tables.
- Some seating is fixed.

Access To (White Marquee)
- The White Marquee is located towards the south west of the park, near the Donuts & Coffee Bar and Safari Marquee. From the Blue Badge car park head towards the central clearing and turn right towards the Carousel, continuing beyond the fair ground area until the zebra crossing at the road through the park. Cross the zebra crossing and follow the path beyond the Sheltered BBQ and Marshmallow Fire Pits and Dinosaurs. Continue along towards the Donuts & Coffee Bar and the White Marquee is on the left. There may also be closer parking off the road through the park, next to the White Marquee.
- The distance from Blue Badge car park is 250m.
- The most accessible route has bollards and slight ramps or slopes.
Entrance (White Marquee)
- This entrance is located at the front of the White Marquee.
- The entrance area is not clearly signed.
- There is not a canopy or recess which provides weather protection at the entrance.
- There is step-free level access at the entrance.
- There are double manual doors at this entrance.
- The doors open towards you.
- The width of the opening is 119cm.
- There is a small lip on the threshold of the opening.
- The doors have a low visual contrast.
- There is a ramped and stepped entrance at the rear, near the additional standard toilets.
Exhibition Space (White Marquee)
- The venue is indoors.
- There is step-free level access throughout all areas.
- There is some room for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm).
- The walls and floor have a medium visual contrast.
- There may be background noise.
- There is not a hearing assistance system.
- Seating available in this area includes: chairs without armrests and armchairs.
- Furniture available in this area includes: tables.
- The surface height of the tables is suitable for wheelchair users.
- The clear height under the tables is suitable for wheelchair users.
Access To (Safari Marquee)
- The Safari Marquee is located towards the south west of the park, near the Donuts & Coffee Bar and White Marquee. From the Blue Badge car park head towards the central clearing and turn right towards the Carousel, continuing beyond the fair ground area until the zebra crossing at the road through the park. Cross the zebra crossing and follow the path beyond the Sheltered BBQ and Marshmallow Fire Pits and Dinosaurs. Continue along beyond the Donuts & Coffee Bar and the Safari Marquee is on the right. There may also be closer parking off the road through the park, next to the White Marquee.

- The most accessible route has slight ramps or slopes and bollards.
Entrance (Safari Marquee)
- This entrance is located at the side of the Safari Marquee.
- The entrance area is not clearly signed.
- There is a canopy or recess which provides weather protection at the entrance.
- There is step-free level access at the entrance.
- There are double manual doors at this entrance, however one door is locked or bolted.
- The doors open towards you.
- The width of the opening is 80cm.
- There is a small lip on the threshold of the opening.
- The doors have a low visual contrast.
Exhibition Space (Safari Marquee)
- This area is internal and external.
- There is step-free level access throughout all areas.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm).
- The walls and floor have a medium visual contrast.
- There is background noise.
- Lighting levels were even at the time of the survey, with unshaded light sources.
- Lighting levels are adjustable.
- Display information includes: televisions/screens.
- There is not a hearing assistance system.
- Seating available in this area includes: chairs with armrests.
- Furniture available in this area includes: tables and picnic tables.
