Access Guide
Access To (Rhinoceros House - Lily Pond Car Park)
- The Rhinoceros House is located to the south of the park, close to the Lily Pond car park. The Rhinoceros House is located to the left after crossing the zebra crossing from the Lily Pond Car park, the second large building on the right beside the Elephant House.
- The distance from Lily Pond car park is 185m.
- The most accessible route has a very easy slope.
Entrance (Rhinoceros House)
- This entrance is located at the front of the building.
- The entrance area is not clearly signed.
- There is a canopy or recess which provides weather protection at the entrance.
- There is step-free access via slope at the entrance.
- The slope has a slight gradient.
- The ramp is over 150cm wide with no handrails.
- There are double manual gates at this entrance.
- The gates are permanently held open.
- The width of the opening is 195cm.
- The gates have a low visual contrast.
- There are similar entrances at either end of the building.
Exhibition Space (Rhinoceros House)
- This attraction is indoors.
- There is step-free level access throughout all areas.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm).
- The walls and floor have a low visual contrast.
- The following may be experienced here: strong smells.
