    Route 1 is the shortest route and is described in detail below.

    The approximate distance of this route is 160 -180 metres (not including escalators and steps).
    Route 3 is a longer route that bypasses the escalators and gives step free/escalator free access to the Bakerloo line southbound platform.
    The approximate distance of this route is 215 metres (not including steps or travelator).
    Please note there is only stepped access to the Bakerloo line northbound platform whichever route you take.

Route 2 - Via Main Ticket Hall

• This route includes; 2 escalators and 11 steps down (northbound platform) or a long upwards slope with a slight gradient (southbound platform).

• Step 1 - enter the mainline station concourse via the Cab Road entrance or take a lift up from the Waterloo Road entrance.
• Step 2 - bear diagonally right towards the underground access point next to platform 19.
• Step 3 - take the escalator down to the main underground ticket hall.
• Step 4 - turn right up the slope to the ticket barriers.
• Step 5 - pass through the ticket barriers and bear diagonally left up the slope towards the escalators.
• Step 6 - take the escalator down to the Bakerloo line concourse area.
• Step 7 - take a passage to either the northbound or southbound platform.
• Please note there are 3 access points to the Bakerloo line northbound platform from the concourse.
• All 3 have stepped access.
• There are 4 access points to the Bakerloo line southbound platform from the concourse.
• The ones to the far left and far right have sloped access and the central 2 have stepped access.
• After the escalator take the first passage on the left for the closest step free access passage to the southbound platform.

Route 3 - Via Waterloo Road Entrance and Jubilee Line Lift

• The approximate distance of this route is 215 metres (not including travelator and steps).
• This route includes; a lift, a travelator and 11 steps down (northbound platform) or a long upwards slope with a slight gradient (southbound platform).
• The steps are clearly marked and have handrails on both sides.
• Step 1 - enter the Waterloo station via the Waterloo Road entrance.
• Step 2 - turn right into the underground station.
• Step 3 - pass through the security barriers.
• Step 4 - bear left at the escalators and follow the signage along a walkway to the lift.
• Step 5 - take the lift down to level -1.
• Step 6 - exit the lift, bear left through the Jubilee line concourse and follow signage towards the Bakerloo line.
• Step 7 - take the travelator along the Jubilee line interchange passage.
• Step 8 - go through the Northern line concourse, following signage to the Bakerloo line.
• Step 9 - take a passage to the Bakerloo line concourse
• Step 10 - take a passage to one of the Bakerloo line platforms.
• Please note there are 3 access points to the Bakerloo line northbound platform from the concourse.
• All 3 have stepped access.
• There are 4 access points to the Bakerloo line southbound platform from the concourse.
• The ones to the far left and far right have sloped access.
• The central two have stepped access.
• Take the first passage on the opposite side of the concourse for the closest step free route to the southbound platform.
