Introduction

  • The Sensory Room is an area which helps children and young adults with sensory difficulties, complex learning difficulties and sensory challenges (such as autism) acclimatise to the noise, crowds and bustle of a busy matchday.
  • Places will be subject to availability and a letter from a doctor/consultant or other healthcare professional may be required when booking.
  • Parents will also have the option to visit the room before matchday, if they wish to check its suitability.
  • The Sensory room is located on the north-east corner of Vicarage Road.

Getting Help and Assistance

  • There is a member of staff available for help and assistance.
  • There is a/are steward(s) trained in British Sign Language.
  • The alternative formats documents can be provided in include; Braille on request, large print on request, different languages on request and audio on request.
  • There is not an assistance dog toilet or toileting area at the stadium/near by.
  • Water bowls for assistance dogs are available.
  • There are not mobility aids available.
  • There are 2 stewards trained in BSL that are available on matchdays.
  • There is a Changing Places facility available in the stadium, located in the South West corner between the Rookery Stand and Graham Taylor Stand - Lower Tier.
    Supporters who are not seated in those areas who wish to use the facility should speak to one of the matchday disabled liaison officers.
  • Watford FC launched a set of Hidden Disability Cards during the 2019/20 season.
    The new addition is a non-mandatory card scheme, which will allow all supporters with a hidden disability to order a card containing messages relating to their particular needs, which can be given to any member of staff to enable supporters to access all of the disabled facilities.
    The scheme is something that a number of Premier League clubs have introduced and details will be shared with other clubs ahead of all away fixtures, so that they can also be used while following the Hornets up and down the country.
    Supporters wishing to apply for a card should email their name, Fan ID and details of which card or cards they would like, to [email protected] (opens in your mail app).
    The club may ask for supporters to send proof of eligibility in some cases.

Sensory Room

  • The Calming Area features a bubble tube, large beanbag, wall projectors, glitter ball and soft seating.
  • The height of the soft seating is 41cm.
  • A Bluetooth speaker system is available for visitors wish to play their own music.

Lowered Seating Area

  • There is a small lowered seating area to the right, facing the pitch.
  • There are 3 clearly marked steps leading down to this area.
  • The steps are at a height of 15cm.

  • Two chairs without armrests are available in this area.
  • The view of the football pitch is very good.
