Access Point (North End)

    • At present due to Covid-19 restrictions the boating lake walk is one-way only. The entry point is at the North end of the boating lake. This system will remain in place for the whole of 2021.

Access Point (South End)

    • There is no gate at this access point.
    • Upon leaving the south promenade to access the south end access point to the marine lake, there has been a tarmac ramp installed to the bottom of the pavement that runs along the railings. Wheelchair users are no longer required to use the dropped kerb and the roadway at this entrance.

Marine Lake Walk

  • When you enter either the north or south shore entrances to the marine lake, the pathways lead around the whole lake.
  • The pathway is 3m wide and the surface is tarmac.
  • The pathway has an easy gradient.
  • During wet and windy conditions it could become slippery under foot.
  • The walk takes about 20 minutes and is 1.5miles long.
  • There is no seating along the pathway but halfway around from the south end entrance are observation points overlooking the Dee Estuary.

Promenade Walk

  • Fronting the marine lake is a paved concrete promenade along the entire length.
  • There are park benches along the length of the promenade overlooking the lake.
  • The pathway along the promenade has an easy gradient sloping towards the lake.
  • The paving is suitable for wheelchair users without assistance.
