Woking Station and Bus Station

  • Woking Station has 6 platforms and serves National Rail services.
  • All platforms have level access.
  • There are accessible and standard toilet facilities. The accessible toilet is located on platform 1. The female and male toilets are located on platforms 2, 4, 5 and 6.
  • The station has an exit to Station Approach and to the High Street.
  • The exit to the High Street is required for this route.
  • Woking Bus Station is located on the Broadway.
  • There is level access within the station.
  • There are not accessible or standard toilet facilities within the station.
  • There is a path that leads west along the Broadway towards Woking Station.

Crossing - High Street

  • Immediately outside Woking Station High Street entrance facing northwards, the Bus Station is to your right and the train station is behind you.
  • Directly in front of you there is the High Street.
  • The High Street is two lanes wide, with traffic coming from both directions.
  • There is tactile paving on both sides of the High Street immediately outside of the station.
  • There are no push button controls, visual indicators or audio alerts at the crossing.
  • Cross over the High Street and bear right down Chertsey Road.

Bus and Train Station to Chertsey Road

  • The path was narrow and uneven due to construction works taking place at the time of the survey (August 2018).
  • There is a combination of tarmac and concrete slab paving in this area. The surface is uneven.
  • The pavement is approximately 140cm wide.
  • Head north east along Chertsey Road for approximately 80m.
  • There are freestanding shop signs restricting the width of the pavement.
  • Continue along the pavement on the left side of Chertsey Road.
  • There is a large town centre map in front of you. Continue past this along the path.

Crossing - Chobham Road

  • The crossing is located by the junction of Chobham Road and Chertsey Road.
  • There are no push button controls, visual indicators or audio alerts.
  • There is a dropped kerb, tactile paving and bollards on both sides of Chobham Road.
  • Chobham Road is 2 lanes wide and has traffic coming from both directions.

Chobham Road to Church Street East

  • After crossing turn immediately left.
  • Facing northwest down Chobham Road, Chertsey Road is now behind you.
  • The pavement surface is concrete slab paving, block paving and small cobbled tiles.
  • There are drain covers and the surface is uneven.
  • There may be free standing shop signs.
  • Continue ahead for approximately 75m.
  • The road bears left but Chobham Road continues as a pedestrianised area.
  • There are bollards approximately 160cm apart.
  • Continuing into the pedestrianised area, where there are benches to rest, bins and bike racks.
  • There are street lights in the centre of the path.
  • Continue approximately 50m to the end of the road and turn left.
  • Now on Church Street East facing westwards towards Jubilee Square head approximately 30m to the junction of Church Street East.

Crossing - Church Street East

  • The crossing is located at the junction of Church Street East.
  • There are no push button controls, visual indicators or audio alerts.
  • There are dropped kerbs and bollards on both sides of the road.
  • Church Street East is 2 lanes wide and has traffic coming from both directions.

Church Street East to Jubilee Square

  • After crossing the road, continue straight towards Jubilee Square.
  • The surface of the path is concrete slab paving and is approximately 170cm wide.
  • Head approximately 70m along the path.
  • There is a telephone box on the left which reduces the width of the pavement to approximately 100cm.
  • As you approach Jubilee Square there are 4 medium height steps to your left which can be used to enter the square. The steps have handrails on both sides and tactile paving at the bottom and top.
  • For the ramped access to Jubilee Square, continue through the entrance gate and along the ramp immediately beyond the gate.
  • The ramp is slight, 140cm in width and has handrails on both sides.
  • You are now in Jubilee Square.
