- This is one of several World Horse Welfare locations with a range of different bookable educational and visitor services and facilities.

Parking and Public Transport

- The venue has its own car park, with Blue Badge parking available.

Getting In and Around

- There is step-free level access at the most accessible entrance.
- There is step-free level access throughout the majority of areas.
- The following areas have step-free access via ramps or slopes: some of the walks have moderate hills.
- Access throughout may include manual doors.
- The following facilities are available: a seat/chair, a hearing assistance system, a manual wheelchair and a water bowl for assistance dogs.
- Additional facilities/services include: Wi-Fi.
- Staff receive the following training: First Aid and SafeguardingTraining.

- The male and female step-free toilet facilities are located in the visitor centre.
- Parent and baby changing facilities are located within the toilet with adaptations.
Parking
- The car park is located in front of the Visitor Centre.
- The car park is open air/surface.
- There are 3 designated Blue Badge parking bays available.
- The Blue Badge bays have faded markings.
- There is a marked zone to both sides but not at the rear.
- The most accessible route from the Blue Badge parking has a dropped kerb without tactile paving and step-free level access.
- Parking is free for all users.
Entrance (Visitor Centre)
- This entrance is located at the front of the building.
- There is step-free level access at the entrance.
- There are double manual doors at this entrance, however one door is locked.
- The door opens towards you.
- The width of the opening is 90cm.
- There is step-free level access as you enter.
Reception (with Gift Shop)
- The reception is located as you enter the Visitor Centre.
- The journey time to this reception from the entrance is approximately less than a minute.
- There is step-free level access to reception.
- The height of the reception desk is 93cm.
- There is a lowered section at the desk, however it is not at a suitable height for a wheelchair user .
- There is a clearly signed portable hearing assistance system.
- There is no (or very little) background noise in this area.
Eating and Drinking (Bistro)

- The Bistro is located to the right after the reception desk.
- The most accessible route has step-free level access.
- This area has staff who can provide assistance with ordering.
- Full table service is available.
- Menus are handheld and available on a board.
- The following dietary requirements can be catered for: gluten free, dairy free, lactose free, nut allergy, vegetarian and vegan.
- The following are available: drinking straws, takeaway cups and takeaway cutlery.
- There is a portable hearing assistance system on request.

- There is space for an assistance dog to rest.
- Seating available in this area includes: chairs with armrests.

- The width of the door to access the decking is 83cm. The windows can concertina out to provide a larger opening during the warmer months.

- There is pictorial signage on or near the door.
- The door opens outwards.

- The door has a twist lock.

Dimensions and Features

- There is room for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre (150cm x 150cm).
- There is a lateral transfer space to the left as you face the toilet, however it is obstructed.
- The lateral transfer space is 98cm (from the side of the toilet pan to the wall).
- There is a spatula flush on the non-transfer side.
- There is a horizontal grab rail on the non-transfer side.
- There is a vertical grab rail on the transfer side.
- There is a dropdown rail on the transfer side.
- The toilet seat is 48cm from the floor.
- There is a wall mounted toilet roll holder, a wash basin, a wall mounted soap dispenser and a hand dryer available.
- The wash basin has a lever mixer tap.
- The vertical grab rails are on both sides of the wash basin.
- There is a pull cord emergency alarm, however it is not within 10cm from the floor.
- The cubicle has a waste bin, a nappy/incontinence items bin and a sanitary bin.
- Additional features include: a mirror, a coat hook and a baby changing table.

- The paths have uneven surfaces.
- There are four designated walks which vary in difficulty.
