About this venue

Sitting proudly on East Street is The Lord Nelson pub, or The Nellie, to friends. Somewhat of a local institution, we pride ourselves on being THE drinking pub in Southwold and a social hub for the town.

You can be assured of a warm welcome, award-winning Adnams beers, wines, and spirits and some good local storytelling too. Our focus is on the perfect pint, lively conversation, and a convivial atmosphere. You can also enjoy Pizza. Please check our food & drink page for days and times.

All members of the family are welcome, dogs included. We are often busy inside, so you just grab a table or bar stool when one becomes free. The same applies to our courtyard garden and our highly prized benches out front.
