AccessAble and The Royal College of Surgeons of England launch new Accessibility Guide

The Royal College of Surgeons of England (RCS England) has partnered with AccessAble; the UK’s leading provider of detailed disabled access information, to create Detailed Access Guides to all rooms and examination spaces.

The Guides are 100 per cent facts, figures, and photographs to help visitors and staff plan their journey to and around the College building, covering everything from parking facilities and hearing loops, to walking distances and accessible toilets.

We know everyone’s accessibility needs are different, which is why having detailed, accurate information is so important. It’s why all of the details you’ll find in the Guide have been checked in person, on site, by trained surveyors.

Anna Nelson, Chief Executive of AccessAble, said:

“We are delighted to launch this new Accessibility Guide to The Royal College of Surgeons of England. Our partnership recognises the College’s commitment to providing a great experience for disabled people.

I would like to express my thanks to the College for championing the provision of accessibility information, making visits less anxious, uncertain and difficult for disabled people.”

Jackie Weller, Executive Director (Transform)/Deputy Chief Executive at The Royal College of Surgeons of England, said:

“We are delighted to have worked in partnership with AccessAble and are thrilled to launch our Access Guides recognising how crucial access information is for all our visitors and staff.

“We recognise everyone’s accessibility needs are different.  Our guides provide information to help everyone plan ahead of their visit, familiarise themselves with our building and create a stress-free experience. We aim to foster an inclusive environment to enable people to learn, collaborate and enjoy themselves in our unique surroundings: the home of surgery.

“We encourage feedback and will continually look to improve visitor experience at the RCS England.”
