AccessAble and Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust launch new Accessibility Guide

Worcestershire Acute Hospitals becomes the latest of over 70 NHS Trusts to partner with AccessAble; the UK’s leading provider of detailed disabled-access information.

Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust has worked with AccessAble to create Detailed Access Guides to facilities, wards, and departments at Worcestershire Royal Hospital, Alexandra Hospital, and Kidderminster Hospital and Treatment Centre. a

The Guides are 100 per cent facts, figures and photographs to help patients, visitors and staff plan their journeys to and around the hospitals, covering everything from parking facilities and hearing loops, to walking distances and accessible toilets.

We know everyone’s accessibility needs are different, which is why having detailed, accurate information is so important. It’s why all of the details you’ll find in the Guide have been checked in person, on site, by trained surveyors.

Dr Gregory Burke, Founder and Chair of AccessAble, said:

“We are delighted to launch this new Accessibility Guide to Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. Our partnership recognises the Trust’s commitment to providing great patient experience for everyone.

I would like to express my thanks to the Trust for championing the provision of hospital accessibility information, making hospital visits less anxious, uncertain and difficult for disabled people.”

Paula Gardner, Chief Nursing Officer at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, said:

“Accessing hospital can be daunting for anyone, especially those who need to think about accessibility. I am delighted we can now support patients and visitors by providing this comprehensive Accessibility Guide.

Patient respect, dignity, experience and care is the focus of our hospitals. The information and guides that AccessAble have developed will help our patients visit our Trust with confidence, knowing that their needs are important to us.

The guides can reassure patients and have profound ability to put patients at ease during what can be a stressful time and ensure all of our patients feel included.”
