Your Accessibility Guide to Aylesbury Town Centre is now live!

Buckinghamshire Council - with support and funding from Aylesbury Town Council and Aylesbury Garden Town - has worked with AccessAble to create Access Guides to venues and areas throughout Aylesbury town centre, including shops, leisure centres, theatres, restaurants, bars, parks and gardens.

The Guides can be used to plan accessible routes around Aylesbury town centre, and also include detailed accessibility information for two car parks in the town.

The Guides are 100% facts, figures and photographs to help residents and visitors plan their journeys to and around the town centre, covering everything from parking facilities and hearing loops, to walking distances and accessible toilets.

We know everyone’s accessibility needs are different, which is why having detailed, accurate information is so important.  It’s why all of the details you’ll find in the Guide have been checked in person, by trained surveyors.

David Livermore, Director of Business Development at AccessAble, said:

“We were delighted to work in partnership with Buckinghamshire Council, Aylesbury Town Council and Aylesbury Garden Town to make this dedicated Accessibility Guide to Aylesbury. The AccessAble website and App will enhance the experience of residents and visitors giving people access to crucial detail on the go. Our aim is to encourage more Councils to adopt a similar approach that will enable disabled people to have greater freedom in exploring their local area.”

Steve Bowles, Buckinghamshire Council Cabinet Member for Town Centre Regeneration and Aylesbury Garden Town Chairman said:

“I’m really pleased we have worked with AccessAble to create these new Access Guides for Aylesbury. We want everyone to be able to enjoy all that Aylesbury has to offer and it’s fantastic that these guides will give people confidence in what to expect and help make visits easier and more enjoyable.

“If you know of anyone who would benefit from this accessibility information, please let them know of these Guides, the website and App."

It’s also available via the AccessAble App which is free to download from the App Store and Google Play, giving you accessibility information at your fingertips to use on the go.

The information for Aylesbury Town Centre joins over 70,000 places already covered across the UK, making www.AccessAble.co.uk a great tool for planning a day out or trip away.
