Your Accessibility Guide to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is now live!

Teaching hospital highly rated by patients for quality of care becomes latest of 60 NHS Trusts across the UK to partner with AccessAble.

Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (NNUH) have worked with AccessAble to create over 100 Detailed Access Guides to facilities, wards and departments at Cromer and District Hospital and Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, including the new state-of-the-art Endoscopy Department.

The Guides are 100% facts, figures and photographs to help patients, visitors and staff plan their journeys to and around the hospitals, covering everything from parking facilities and hearing loops, to walking distances and accessible toilets.

We know everyone’s accessibility needs are different, which is why having detailed, accurate information is so important.  It’s why all of the details you’ll find in the Guide have been checked in person, by trained surveyors.

Anna Nelson, Executive Director of AccessAble, said:

“We are delighted to partner with NNUH, a Trust that prioritises accessibility and patient experience, recognising how crucial access information is for disabled patients, visitors and staff. We know that visiting hospital can be a really stressful time and not being able to find out about the facilities available can really add to that. We want our guides to provide the information people need about accessibility so they plan their visit and feel confident about what to expect.”

Professor Nancy Fontaine, Chief Nurse at NNUH, said:

“Our aim is to deliver an outstanding patient and carer experience for everyone using our hospitals.  As part of this strategy, we have listened to feedback from our local community and responded to their needs by providing a more responsive and contemporary support for patients and families.”
